How long it takes for a demand letter to arrive to Menlo Park, CA?

Eventually I used a Hungarian solicitor to devise and send letter before action letters to Meta. Both letters were posted on 21 Sept (Mon) and both letters left the country on the 22nd Sept. The letter sent to Meta Ireland got delivered on Mon 28 September. The Menlo Park letter still shows this “Receive item at office of exchange - 25/09/2026 21:16”. Apparently USPS doesn’t tract the journey of the letter, just the delivery. I’m getting a bit anxious as it’s been a while since the letter arrived to the US and I have no clue what’s happening.

How long did it take you to get the letter delivered? What’s the reasonable timeframe to wait? Should it try to get it sent again but with DHL? I fear I’m running out of time.

What to do with jars? Recycling or normal bin?

I have accumulated so many glass jars and I don’t know what to do with them. The butelkomat machines do not take these back. It would feel like such a waste if I just threw them in the bin. Can these be reused? Is there a place where they accept them? What should I do with these? Recycle bin and that’s it?

Any recommendations for affordable UK based solicitors?

In a nutshell:
My accounts got suspended then all of them got disabled on 15 June (7 accounts all together connected in the same account centre).

Started off getting reviving and optimising another Facebook account and getting Meta Verified. Meta Verification (Premium) didn’t take me anywhere so I started the legal route. I could never submit an appeal as all links were fake, dead and all my accounts were disabled. Data downloads are empty.

On 18 July and 19 July emailed Meta and requested human review and my data under GDPR. I followed up with a proper letter (SAR request under UK GDPR) to Meta DPO in Dublin. As I didn’t receive a proper response (counting from 18 July) within 30 days, I sent a complaint to ICO. As I have an EU passport I logged an EU GDPR complaint and DSA complaint with the relevant organisation.

At the same time I tried to get quotes as it’s commonly thought that sending a letter by a solicitor is more fruitful. I got a quote from a Polish guy for 1400 EUR, a woman in Malta for something similar and one girl mentioned a solicitor in Greenwich. I kept chasing the Greenwich solicitors for a month and eventually last week they got back to me offering a letter sent to Meta in CA and they reported success with this. They charge £250 plus VAT. I wanted to go with them as it’s affordable and just what I need and I already had a letter written. Yesterday I called them as communication was really slow and I detailed what I have done and that my next step should be the petty cash court and the letter before action/demand letter sent. I detailed where I got to with logging a complaint to ICO and the guy just turned around and said this:

“Thank you for your time on the phone just now.

As discussed, I can provide the postal and email addresses that we have used in the past for our correspondence with Meta. I have provided these below:

appeals@fb.com
** **
Meta Designated Agent
Meta Platforms, Inc
1 Meta Way
Menlo Park
CA 94025
USA

I do apologise that we cannot be of further assistance on this matter. As I mentioned in our conversation, you have already taken steps that we would recommend through your correspondence to Meta and subsequent GDPR/ICO complaints. As you have undertaken steps that we would do already, this matter is not at an appropriate stage for us to become involved.”

So he withdrew his £250 plus VAT offer and I’m now back in the drawing board and I’m trying to find someone affordable and sensible to send this damn letter before action letter to Meta.

I’m super stressed out as it feels I’m wasting so much time and honestly, I cannot pay 3 grand for a letter (wouldn’t even want over a thousand to tell the truth). I have emailed few companies but they either don’t deal with such a case (send demand letters but regarding moneys owed) or they say that they don’t have capacity or they want me to pay for a consultation for £500 that I don’t actually need or look at my screenshots and assess the case for £3000…

Contacted Direct Access Barristers too, but they usually just advise and don’t send letters.. expensive as well.

They say it’s more efficient if the letter is sent by a solicitor.. do you have a recommendation on the UK I can approach? I’m so gutted now..

Is this what “ethical hacking” actually looks like, or is this a scam?

I had my F account suspended, which cascaded and took down all I accounts in the account family. I contacted someone offering to help “recover” them through what he called ethical hacking. (Upwork)

What he told me:
• He’d need to buy a security scanning tool called Netsparker (a real web vulnerability scanner) for $215, purchased through a random company he pointed me to via a Slack invite link, not the actual official vendor
• I’d need to buy it and send him the login myself, then he’d charge me $500 more once accounts were recovered
• His plan was to “write a coding script to build a Bot” and “penetrate the Bot into the accounts URL” to gain access
• Later he said he couldn’t use a “downloaded version” of the software because it would “notify M**a Cyber Security,” so it had to be a non-downloaded version somehow

None of this made technical sense to me.

I never paid or sent anything, and eventually he got restricted from the messaging platform. Or maybe he blocked me, however it says now restricted profile.

Genuinely curious from people who know security/pentesting: is any part of this a real method, or is this just a scam using real tool names to sound credible?

Meta cascade disable of all accounts (personal + business) — false positive, no appeal, empty data. Anyone had luck with GDPR/ICO?

I’m hoping someone has been through something similar and can share what actually worked.
On June 15, 2026, Meta disabled my main Facebook (from 2007), two Instagram accounts (mainly dormant used in 2016/17 and 2021), and my business page/instagram in a full cascade.
• Accounts were mostly dormant or legitimate (family events, one recent innocent Warsaw Story, business posts).
• I never violated any rules.
• My Facebook was suspended and it lead me to my dormant travel instagram account to log an appeal. I couldn’t log in hence I requested a Password reset (following their own instruction to log in and appeal) triggered permanent disable with “no further review” message.
• I was looping around with Meta AI. All appeal links it suggests are broken (“content not available” or redirects).
• Data downloads are empty shells.
• I have decided to use a secondary Facebook account and went for a Meta Verified Premium, but support is mostly AI, ghosting agents, and contradictory responses (“wait for appeal link” vs “final decision”). Actually I couldn’t event get human support, just AI through Meta Premium too - I can only get to a human though a phone call.
I have strong evidence of legitimate use (2017 ad receipts, 2007/2013 early user emails, family event, business payments). Human agents in chats are useless. Sometimes they just keep the chat open by saying something like ‘hi’ or adding a full stop and disappearing.
I am hoping to send a detailed GDPR letter (Article 15 data access + Article 22 human review of automated decision) and escalated my case.
Has anyone successfully recovered accounts in a similar cascade/false positive situation? Especially with GDPR complaints or ICO escalation? Did you get full data or reinstatement?
Any other tips (beyond the usual forms that don’t work) would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!
