As A Muslim, I'd Appreciate Honest Perspectives on These Concerns
You all might have seen how Muslims in India are treated. The Hindutva goons are doing everything they want to put us down. Our Mosques are being burnt and replaced with temples, homes are destroyed and even innocent Muslims are jailed. During the CJP protests you have seen how Junaid Malik was imprisoned along with his father despite the fact that he did a gesture of kindness by providing food and water to the protestors. The Mohammed Ali Jauhar University is also under the threat of being demolished and how is it still occuring because we are weak. I will say it without filter and it is true because if we had power than why we will be treated like this in the country where we were born.
The mistake many Muslims like us make is this: we keep arguing about ideas, metaphysics, Quranic reinterpretations, Hadith authenticity, while ignoring the elephant in the room: Power. The things which I mentioned aren't inherently bad and I encourage young Muslims to do but what I feel is that we should understand Islam in a better way and study our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, classic Islamic scholars even if we don't agree with some ideas but at least we would be able to create our own opinions.
Islam today is stuck in idealism and moralism. We can write articles and create content as much as we want. We may be able to influence many people, but that would still not be enough. Our main enemy is the Far Right like the Zionists, MAGA and Hindutvas who spread poison against Muslims. Despite so much online activism for so many years, nothing significant has changed on the ground when it comes to challenging these powerful enemies. Without power, we can do nothing. We can argue with them as much as we want, insult them as much as we want but what is needed is the core understanding to challenge them. Our Islamic Economics system is developed in a halal way where we can improve not just our lives but the lives of every Muslim. Today you will see how the BJP government due to their influence in Bollywood is able to produce so many films showing Muslims as villains. They are able to do it without no one questioning because the Far Right ideology is too strong. Al Jazeera is by far the only media company which supports Muslims and other Muslim media groups showing out plight in a nuanced way are small and not that funded. Our Madhrasas are also always looked down. Even if a Muslim gains wealth than he won't invest in any media, any Madhrasa or University or even a financial institution which improves our lives.
Today we are divided and if we are told about our backwardness then we talk about our glorious Islamic history. As is say it again that isn't bad because our history is great no doubt but we are stuck in the past without thinking about making our past and future even better than our history. No Muslim has any excuse to be mediocre anymore. Everyone should be at 100% effort. It only takes a couple of generations, maybe three at worst, for this to pay off. By effort I mean both in the dunya and the akhira sense. People should be at the top of their class in university while also having enough Islamic knowledge to combat attacks from all sides.
