ingrown hairs are ruining my legs ive stayed away from shaving and stuck to waxing yet cant get rid of them. What do i do

(This is ten days after waxing)
I’ve been struggling with really bad ingrown hairs on my thighs and legs, and honestly, it’s starting to affect my quality of life. I constantly notice them, worry about how my legs look, and feel like I’ve tried everything without actually fixing the problem.
I get bumps/ingrown hairs and they just seem to keep coming back. I’m so tired of dealing with them and would genuinely love to hear from anyone who has managed to get rid of theirs.
What actually worked for you? Products, shaving/waxing techniques, routines, treatments — literally anything. I’m looking for something that will prevent them from coming back, not just temporarily make them look better.

My dog won’t stop biting one back paw and it’s turned extremely red, what could this be?

My dog has been repeatedly biting/chewing and licking one of his back paws. I noticed that the fur/skin around that paw has become very red/reddish-brown and looks quite irritated compared with his other back paw, which looks normal

He seems particularly focused on this one paw and keeps going back to bite at it. I’m not sure whether the redness is from him constantly licking/chewing it or whether there’s something irritating the paw that is making him do this in the first place.

Does this look like it could be an allergy, infection, something stuck between his toes, or another type of irritation? Is there anything specific I should check for, and does this warrant a vet visit soon?

Where do the girlies go for threading around Holborn/Covent Garden?

I’m in london for a month and for the love of God cannot find a good threading place around Holborn/Covent Garden. 😭
Looking for somewhere that actually shapes brows well, doesn’t over-thread them, and is reasonably priced. Happy to walk 20–30 minutes if it’s worth it.
Please drop your holy grail recommendations (and places to avoid) because I’m struggling.

Some people believe that unpaid community service should be compulsory in high school programmes (for example, working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children). Do you agree or disagree

The discussion over whether high schools should make community service compulsory or not has gained significant traction over the past few years. I believe that community service is a phenomenal initiative and making it compulsory in school is a great way to orient students in that direction.

When in high school, students are at an age which can be described as a ‘foundational age’. It is when their values and morals are developing. Community service is a great way to introduce adoloscents to what qualities such as kindness, compassion and empathy actually mean. It opens their eyes to the outside world and causes them to realise the various challenges the underprivileged go through. Without this, a lot of children may always live in a “bubble” and never actually know what it is like to give back to society.

Moreover, the more that children are exposed to these realities the more it would instil the desire within them to want to help. What would initially start off as compulsory would soon turn into natural and almost instinctive as children themselves would want to help those in need, in anyway the can. For instance, in my school, my seniors who had visited an old age home as part of their school program, were so moved and emotional after looking at the state of the facility and realising how lonely those living there are, they themselves begin visiting every weekend even after the program ended.

In conclusion, compulsory volunteering is such an activity that in a way, works for the betterment of both, those receiving as well as the ones giving. It is a great initiative to nudge students towards the right direction and to teach them personality traits that are necessary to become a good human being.

Can you reserve a cancelled room after IB results?

I currently have accommodation booked, but it’s not my preferred option.
I remember seeing people say that you can email LSE Accommodation to let them know that if your preferred accommodation becomes available (for example, after students cancel following IB results), you’d like to switch to it. I also remember reading that this is only possible if the accommodation you’re switching to is more expensive than the one you’ve already booked, but I can’t seem to find where I saw that.
Is this actually true? Has anyone done this before, and do they keep note of these requests, or do they just tell you to keep checking the accommodation portal?

Will my offer still be valid if results are submitted before the deadline but reviewed later?

Hi, I have a question about meeting my offer conditions.
My deadline for submitting official qualification results so that my offer can be made unconditional is 31 July. If I send my results on 25 July, would that still be considered on time even if the university doesn’t actually process them and change my offer to unconditional until after 31 July?
In other words, is the important thing that the results are submitted before the deadline, or does the offer itself need to be updated to unconditional by 31 July?
Thanks!

Incoming students: have you already made friends?

Guys, are you all already talking to loads of people from uni and making close friends? 😭
I’ve spoken to a few people here and there, but the conversations usually die after a day or two and then we never really speak again.
Just wondering if most people have already found their people who you know you’re for sure gonna be hanging with once you’re there cuz im honestly kinda scared going into uni knowing nobody

are holidays included in the accommodation contract?

Hi, does anyone know if the Rosebery Hall accommodation contract covers the holidays as well?

Like, are you allowed to stay during the Christmas/winter break and the spring/Easter break too, or is it strictly term-time only?

Lse vs kcl law

International student deciding between LSE and KCL for undergraduate law.

How much do firms actually differentiate between LSE and KCL for vacation schemes/training contracts? Is LSE’s prestige/network significantly stronger, or does it mostly come down to grades and experience?

Also, which is more worth it overall as an international student in terms of opportunities and reputation

Exam structure in lse — can any current students explain?

Im an incoming international LLB student at LSE and I’m a bit confused about how law exams actually work in the UK compared to what I’m used to.

What kind of questions usually come up in law exams?

Are the exam questions based directly on lectures/classes/ readings or are they more unpredictable?

How do people usually prepare throughout the year?

Would really appreciate advice from current/past LSE law students because the whole system seems very different from my school system 😭

Hi, I’m a KCL offer holder and a bit confused about the accommodation deadline.
They say you need to apply by 3rd June to be guaranteed a place, but what if I haven’t firmed KCL by then? If I firm after 3rd June, do I lose the guarantee completely?
What usually happens for people who firm later, do they still get housing or is it just luck/availability?
