Anyone here used Boxed.gg long term?

Been seeing it mentioned more often lately. Mostly curious if it’s actually good long term or if it’s just another temporary thing.

Stained Glass Eyes

This scene had me bawling my eyes out 😭

Lestat truly is vulnerable when it comes to her daughter.

Most abandoned checkouts are not abandonment, they are confusion

I used to think abandoned checkout means customer changed mind.

But support messages say otherwise.

People ask:

“payment ho gaya but order nahi dikha”

“COD hai kya?”

“delivery kab tak?”

“UPI fail ho gaya”

“return milega?”

“can I pay after delivery?”

That is not normal abandonment.

That is trust/payment/delivery confusion.

And most stores still send:

“Complete your order, use 10% off.”

Maybe discount was not the problem.

Maybe payment failed.

Maybe delivery date was unclear.

Maybe COD was hidden.

Maybe return policy looked shady.

If you already have Shopify, Freshdesk/Zoho, WhatsApp Business, Judge.me reviews and something like FlexyPe for checkout, the next step is honestly just tagging reasons properly.

Anyone tagging checkout/support issues properly?

Thoughts on Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

I am only at around 15% through Ninth House, and I keep feeling like I am fighting the writing instead of getting immersed in the story.

The prose is beautiful at times, but there are so many descriptive passages and shifts into introspection that I lose track of the current scene. It almost feels like the confusion is intentional, as if we are meant to experience the world the same way Alex does.

For those who have finished it, was that your interpretation too? And if so, do you think it made the book stronger, or did it make it unnecessarily difficult to follow?

Do you think Armand deserves all that?

After watching episode 4, I can't help but feel pity for him. No, I don't justify what he did to Claudia and Louis and all other terrible things he had done. I just feel that people overlook just how much his human life shaped who he became.

At first, I kind of hated Armand but after understanding what he went through, I think it makes the terrible things he had done much more easier to understand.

From what I remember (in the Louvre date scene), Armand was denied a chance to develop a sense of self due to him being dehumanized throughout his life before he was turned. Violence and enslavement were his earliest memories. He was treated an object to be bought, sold, admired, or possessed. Throughout his mortal life, the people with over him dictated his reality. So as an immortal, he reverses that dynamic by trying to dictate everyone else's.

I believe that every single one of them has the right to be angry at him. Tho I didn't like how Lestat made fun of Armand being a "ragdoll for sale" (low blow Lestat!). This episode showed that Armand would choose to humiliate himself over and over rather than be alone, hence the apology tour.

I am honestly looking forward to how the Devil's Minion storyline would play out in the show specifically, how he and Daniel would navigate their relationship.

What do you think of Armand as a character?

Just finished my new dual-monitor + indirect lighting setup.

I spend long hours working in front of two monitors every day, and for years, I used a traditional desk lamp. While it was bright enough for reading and focused tasks, I often ended up with tired, dry eyes.

Recently, I realized the issue wasn't simply brightness, but changing the way I light the room. When the desk is brightly lit while the rest of the room remains dark, my eyes constantly have to adjust between the bright screens, the illuminated desk, and the dim surroundings. I also noticed reflections and glare on my monitors.

A few months ago, I switched to an upward-facing indirect lighting desk lamp that bounces light off the ceiling and illuminates the entire room instead of just my desk. The difference has been noticeable: there's less glare and reflection on my monitors, the lighting is much more even, and overall, my workspace feels significantly more comfortable.

I still think direct lighting is excellent for tasks that require precision, such as reading or crafting. But for a dual-monitor setup and long hours at the computer, the improvements indirect lighting has brought to my workspace have been hard to ignore.

I'm curious if anyone else here has started using indirect lighting instead. Did it make a difference for you? I'd also love to see photos of your setup.

Is every industry using AI now?

I work in procurement. AI used to mean faster emails. Now it means I can set a target price and let the AI go have the negotiation for me.

I was sourcing kitchenware. Had a unit price I needed to hit. Instead of me going to each supplier and doing the back-and-forth myself, I put the target into Accio Sourcing Toolkit and it started the conversations. Some suppliers came down on the first ask. One didn't move at all. One came back with a counter that was close but not quite there. The agent flagged it to me and asked whether to push further or accept.

I said push. It went back. The supplier came down again.

That moment of "should I accept this or push harder" that's actually the decision I want to be making. Not the ten rounds of messaging that happen before it. The AI handled all of that and surfaced the one moment that needed a human judgment call.

I still make every real decision. But they're the right decisions, not the administrative ones. What AI tools have actually changed your day-to-day, not just your email drafts?
