Can someone explain the setting 'Include original sender in email headers'

In settings, SimpleLogin has the option:

>Include original sender in email headers

>SimpleLogin forwards emails to your mailbox from the reverse-alias and not from the original sender address.
If this option is enabled, the original sender addresses is stored in the email header X-SimpleLogin-Envelope-From and the original From header is stored in X-SimpleLogin-Original-From. You can choose to display this header in your email client.
As email headers aren't encrypted, your mailbox service can know the sender address via this header.

I need help understanding this. Especially the part where it says 'As email headers aren't encrypted, your mailbox service can know the sender address via this header.' I am using SimpleLogin with Proton. So does this mean that checking 'Include sender address in email headers' make it less secure?

How to backup a self-hosted Anytype instance?

I have a self-hosted Anytype instance on my Linux server using this repo: GitHub - anyproto/any-sync-dockercompose: Deploy your own any-sync network with Docker Compose - self-host Anytype backend · GitHub

I have it set up and it works now.

What is the correct approach to backup my data? Which folders should I include? Does Anytype provide a way to export backups, or should I just periodically zip the folders and place them on my backup?

OS

Linux Ubuntu Server

Anytype Version

0.56.1

Network Mode

Self-hosted

People like this are insufferable

It's genuinely becoming annoying. If people identify with Homecoming and don't know her other songs, so what? Who are you to decide whether someone can truly relate to her song. And just because people dress basic or don't look alt doesn't mean they are pretending to like her or whatever.

It's also, Homecoming is inspired by Carrie, one of Stephen King's most famous works. Literally everyone knows or at least understands what it's about. Yes the song is good but it's also not hard to understand why are we pretending this is Ulysses 😭😭😭

Notion import didn't import any images linked in properties - easy fix?

I just imported all my Notion data into Anytype using their import tool, but it seems all the images linked in properties didn't get migrated.

What I mean is this:

https://preview.redd.it/3sz820dh3uch1.png?width=449&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ff2c29f8a78c3f6c2f87864e4834cb2e392d0a3

In Notion, I have a property of type 'Files & media', I use this to attach images. However, the imported data in Anytype has completely skipped this property, the entire column doesn't exist.

Somehow, media files added inside a page are imported. This only affects files in properties.

Is there an easy way to fix this? It's not feasible for me to attach all these images manually.

Notion import merged all my properties of the same name together - easy fix?

I just imported all my Notion data into Anytype using their import tool, but it seems that all my properties with the same name are merged together.

For example, I have different tables Books and Clothes

Both of these tables have the multi-select property 'Status'

In Books, property Status has values Watched, Completed, Dropped

In Clothes, property Status has values Bought, Sold, Second hand

In Notion, even if properties have the same name, it doesn't matter because every database has its own set of properties. Anytype works differently, each property is shared globally.

This does present a problem for me. When I am in Type Books and selecting from my Status drop-down, I don't want to see values from Type Clothes.

I can't find an easy way to separate them. It seems they have been merged all together into one property and I would have to do this manually (not feasible, I have thousands of entries)

Is there an easy fix for this? Or should I wipe everything and import anew with unique property names?

Best way to backup Config files?

I want to backup only my /config folder. I know Jellyfin offers a built-in way to export backups under Dashboard > Advanced > Backups, but it doesn't have automatic scheduled backups, and I don't want to avoid doing it manually.

I am currently backing up my /config folder with Restic to Backblaze.

My questions

  • Is it okay to just backup the folder itself? Or is it unstable (as in, things might be corrupted or break when restoring the backup)?
  • During the backup, is it necessary to shut down the docker? Or is it fine to keep it running? I read somewhere that for Jellyfin config it doesn't really matter.
  • What methods do you use to backup? What is the recommended way? (That preferably avoids doing things manually)

Use Proton Drive CLI on Ubuntu Linux Server?

I tried installing Proton Drive CLI on my Ubuntu Linux Server (no GUI), and it gave me the error:

proton-drive auth login

Failed to load session from secrets (ensure you have secrets available, read the README for more information): Cannot autolaunch D-Bus without X11 $DISPLAY

Some googling told me that it's because I am trying to install it on a gui-less server. I tried installing the packages (libsecret gnome-keyring-pkcs11 libpam-gnome-keyring p11-kit p11-kit-modules) but after some debugging it still doesn't work.

Because this release is so new I also can't find any manuals about this specific issue online.

My idea was to use Proton to backup my server files.

Might anyone know how to solve this?

Do you use Proton Docs / Sheets?

While I sometimes use it for quick notes and the sort, I don't like how it's just like Google Docs, where the file itself can't be saved to your disk. It just saves a shortcut. And I don't like it because I want ALL my files to be on my disk.

That's why I'm currently still using Markdown files or .odt (Open Document Text) files.

I wish they would stop developing cloud-only solutions, at least give me the ability to own the file.

Can I use Proton Drive as my backup for Immich?

I want to use Proton Drive as my backup storage for Immich. I know options like Backblaze are standard, but I already have more than enough storage bought on Proton, and if possible, I would like to avoid having to pay for yet another cloud storage.

I know I can just do local backups (with an external drive for example) but I don't trust myself with local backups only.

I did some searching and found out that it's possible to do a Redis (for incremental backups) + Rclone (for syncing to cloud) bridge to Proton Drive, since Proton Drive doesn't have official Linux support. But I don't know if this is the way to go.

Anyone in a similar situation and have tips? Or should I bite the bullet and go for Backblaze?

Do you have multiple accounts to follow different types of blogs?

I use Tumblr for both fandom and aesthetics posting, but I've always found it a shame that they don't have a "lists" feature like Twitter to create separate feeds on your timeline (one for fandom, one for personal, funny, fashion, etc). I know this is probably a niche issue, but as a "solution" I made different accounts to follow different types of blogs. But I realize that the upkeep and organization and constant switching around is a PITA and I just kinda gave up.

So to people who use Tumblr for a lot of different types of content, how do you manage this? Do you follow everything on one account? Do you have multiple accounts? I'm also a fervent user of sideblogs because I like having my blogs be dedicated to one theme.

I assume most people don't really care about this but still curious.
