outLIAR — I feel completely scammed

I honestly don’t know what else to do anymore. I joined Outlier because I was simply looking for an honest way to earn extra income. I worked hard, spent LOT of hours on tasks, and genuinely gave it my best.

Now my account has been permanently deactivated, and it hurts knowing that all those hours of hard work might mean nothing.

I’m not asking for anything for free. I just wanted to work, earn something for my family, and have a decent side income. It’s heartbreaking to put so much effort into something, only to suddenly lose access and feel like you’re being treated as if you did something wrong.

I feel completely scammed and honestly devastated. Is there any way to recover the money from the work I already completed, even if my account is gone?

Has anyone here actually been through this and managed to get their unpaid earnings?

⭕️Banned by Outlier... but what if it was a mistake?

Has anyone successfully gotten their Outlier account reinstated after a review?

I was recently banned, but I genuinely believe it was a mistake. My QA was consistently good, I maintained good work ethics, and I followed the Aether task instructions completely.

Is there still hope after submitting a review? I contacted their CS team and hasn't heard back. Anyone experienced this before? 😭🙏

Suddenly restricted/banned after working — is there a chance it gets reactivated?

Hi everyone! I’m currently working on this, my account was suddenly marked as “Unapproved Annotator” / under review/ banned."

I worked 8 hours before the restriction/ban. I was following the task instructions provided to me, so I’m really confused about what happened. I have already contacted support regarding the situation and I’m currently waiting for a review.

For those who have experienced a restriction/deactivation on Outlier, I’d really appreciate your insights please:

  • Were you able to get your Outlier and Aether access/account restored?
  • How long did the review take?
  • Did you still receive payment for the hours you worked before being restricted? 😭
  • What happened to your pending earnings after the restriction?

I’m mainly worried about my 8 hours and 36 minutes of work, especially since I put a lot of effort into the tasks and was expecting those earnings to be paid. I am known for being honest on everything so I am sooooo down right now :(

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the same thing. 😭 Thank you!

Has anyone here actually landed a client through Reddit?

I’ve been trying Reddit to find VA clients but haven’t had much luck so far. I’m a VA specializing in **customer support, admin tasks, social media management, Canva, and Amazon/eCommerce support**.

For those who landed a client here, what worked for you? Did they come from comments, posts, or FOR HIRE threads? Which subreddits helped the most?

I’m not looking for shortcuts. I just want to learn from people who’ve actually done it and understand what approach worked for them.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 😊

Looking to transition into E-commerce VA — would love advice from those already in the field

Hi everyone!

I’m currently transitioning into e-commerce support and would love to hear from people already working in the industry.

A little about my background:
• Technical Support at Google (including Google Shopping-related support)
• Running my own graphic design business for several years
• Canva graphic design and marketing materials
• Customer support and client communication
• Managing orders, organizing projects, and handling administrative tasks

I’m now focusing on building a career as an E-commerce VA, particularly with Shopify, Amazon, product listings, customer support, order management, and backend operations.

Since I’m making this transition, I’d love to ask:
What skill made the biggest difference when you landed your first e-commerce client?
What do clients wish new E-commerce VAs knew before getting hired?
If you were starting today, what would you learn first?

I’m continuously learning and building my portfolio, and I’d really appreciate any advice, resources, or constructive feedback.

Thanks in advance!
