My 3 year old tripod Jimmy Dean

Stopping his brother from stealing his toy 😅. So many people assume tripods can’t do anything but Jimmy shows this isn’t always the case.

My coloring set up modeled by Freddy

I was running out of room on my desk for my coloring books and supplies. I work from home and my desk is just big enough for my work laptop and personal laptop.

So I purchased this desk and set of floating shelves. So far I love it. Fingers crossed the cats don’t knock it over! 😳

Found my gray baby’s Facebook post from 3 years ago

He had been returned to the shelter by his previous adopters. He had a deformed leg that had to be amputated. Swipe right to see Jimmy Dean now 🤗

Came across this old picture of my Darcy

Here she is with her feline sister Orson Welles. Sadly both are gone but they live on in my heart.

Took me a week to detox from visiting my toxic mom

There's nothing like visiting a toxic mother for 72 hours. My mom, brother and I spend a total of hours at Ross, Marshalls and Burlington looking for clothes that were "more slimming" on me. Including shoes because apparently even sneakers make me look fat.

Mind you I did not want nor need new clothes which I told her. But she insisted I did because she has always made my body a project even when I was a kid. She used to shame me when we went back to school shopping and I had to go up a size in pants. Which meant I had to keep quiet and wear painfully tight pants during class until I could go home and change into shorts with an elastic waist band.

On the day I had to leave my brother started a political conversation at the breakfast table and I blew up at her over a comment she made (let's just say we're on total opposites when it comes to politics). Then she got teary and said "and after I spend all that time and money on buying you those clothes" UGH

Latest completed pages

Latest coloring pages. I was visiting my toxic mother last week so that drained a lot of my creativity. But after a session with my therapist I’ve been getting back to myself and enjoying coloring again.

Completed pages for this week

I had a nasty stomach bug until about Tuesday and didn’t do much (except barf 💀) at all. Fortunately I’m
Feeling better and my interest in coloring has returned with a vengeance 😁

I’m still struggling with the two marker method and light and shadows but I included two that I didn’t feel were completely ruined lol. I’m still
Figuring out how to use the white gel pen to add highlights. Any advice is welcome!

Are acrylic markers a good addition?

Here are some of my recently finished pages. As you can see my rain on the window effect needs work 🤣

but I’m especially pleased with how the soldier from WWI receiving a letter turned out. That being said I feel like it could use more. I do not have acrylic markers but would adding them to my collection bring a good way to level up my pictures?

Also I learned the hard way that I need to clean those protective plastic sheets Ohuhu gives you. As you can see they bleed through onto the sheet which in turn, bled onto some of my pages 😫

First attempt at period theme

As a 19th century historian here is my attempt at a period themed piece. It was a fun exercise in blending even though I messed ip the shading on the figure on the right. I tried fixing it with the colorless blender but that made it worse 😭

First Attempt Using Two Colors

Tried my hand at the two marker challenge. I know it’s for more advanced folks but it looked so neat I had to try it. Also i got tired of being overwhelmed by which colors to use lol. That being said it seems counterintuitive to use only two colors. I kept wanting to add more.

But I finally managed to finish one whew! I definitely want to keep practicing. It’s no masterpiece but it was fun trying! PS: any suggestions on how to avoid or get rid of the splotches? 😳Also any tips in general would be much appreciated!!

Jason shows his sensitive side

I caught Jason Priestley practicing his “draw me like one of your French girls" impression with ketchup on the side.

Stencil hack

I am not at all artistically inclined but I love to color. I wanted to try drawing patterns so I bought the Coco Wyo workbook on how to draw patterns but I struggled to draw a fish 😭

I was at Michael’s when I saw these stencils for a dollar. they may not be fish but the leaves on the plants are the same oval shape as a fish’s body and then all I needed to do was add a triangle for the fin 😁

I’m excited to try other designs too. Just an idea i thought I’d share. I’ve seen a few posts on here asking about the stencils in coloring videos on social media. I haven’t seen those around but depending on how you use them there are ways to make any stencil your own .
