Current WIP

Just wanted to share my current WIP ☺️

Pretty happy with how this is going so far!
Hoping to have it finished tomorrow night 🤞🏻
It’s taken a bit of time to get to this point as my chronic illnesses have been in full flare mode, so I’m extra proud that I’ve managed this!

Colored a Mermaid with Normal Pointer Markers of 5$ bucks. Are they good?

I got these markers I found them cheap somehow?... I later found out they have an alcohol Markers line called ArtPro. Are they popular on your countries?

I didn't like the experience tho haha, It was a pain coloring with normal markers, too dry..

By the end, I made the background with Touch Alcohol Markers, cause I did not want my Ohuhu to die so quick....

How did I do?

Just got into coloring about a week ago, only have done about 3 pages besides this one. I messed up on the right leg you can see a streak where I grabbed the wrong shade of blue while working quickly. Other than that I’m pretty happy with learning shading and other techniques! I’m using ohuhu alcohol markers with the brush and chisel tips. I’ll do the background later.

Let me know your thoughts and what I can do better next time!

Is anyone else obsessed with rainy pages?

Something about a rainy day page gives joy to my soul. Obviously my skill level varies across these pages but even the earlier ones I still love. It’s so easy to make them moody add high contrast details also water in general is just fun to draw. There is one thing that bothers me across all pages; I don’t think the objects in the page look wet enough. How do I add that wet shine look to my pages? I use alcohol markers as the base, (Ohuhu and/or Prismacolor) details are done with acrylic markers, gel pens, and/or pencil crayons. (Grabie, arrtx, artecho, for acrylics, jellyroll for gel pens, and Prismacolor premiere for coloured pencils), so I have lots of materials to work with. Any advice would be appreciated.

My take on this page from 'World of Wonders' - Johanna Basford (w/ progress pics)

This is my second post on this sub and I'd love to answer any question and I'm happy to help anyway that I can!

Medium is Prismacolor pencils.

The first 2 images are in different lighting.

I've come to really enjoy coloring! It definitely helps me with stress. 😄

My first attempt at two toned

Overall really happy with it. Some parts I wish I put more yellow.

Not sure if I should add shadows and highlights.

Also I've never been good at coloring backgrounds. I can't chase the color fast enough.

My latest

My latest page from Colouring Heavens Tiny Worlds issue🥰 i coloured in the bunnies like me and my husband on the night he proposed to me (check the freckles on the girl bunny🥲) but unfortunately he didnt serenade me like this boy bunny is lol. I also invested in a POSCA white paint pen for my highlights and holy moly what an actual difference it makes to the finished piece! I also freehanded my gingham cloth over the jar, which was my first time doing a pattern on a flowing fabric☺️ well chuffed with how this one came out.

I used Flowood pencils and a POSCA white paint pen

I used a combination of acrylic markers, glitter pens and gel pens
