Drone Class Marks, is doing this actually wrong? (UK)
Using my Mavic Air 3 as an example, it has a class mark of C1 according to EASA website.
This is the same model code that is on the drone as well "EB3WBC"
So, what's stopping me from actually just printing out the class mark on a piece of paper, just like I would for my operator ID and slapping it on there?
What is the actual rule/ legal text which tells me I need to have a class mark on the drone FROM the manufacturer. DJI is retrospectively giving CX Labels, that's the proper channel but what's stopping us from doing it ourselves, is there an extra step involved somewhere?
As long as the model numbers match, then the drone is compliant. If any changes were to occur in the drone which makes the older drones non-compliant then we'd expect a different model number or a suffix like "EB3WBC-2" or "EB3WBC V2"
I'd like to hear some thoughts on this.
