• BITS applies a strict withdrawal penalty structure on fees 50% (Approx 1.75 Lakhs + Hostel + Travel Expenses) after seat acceptance, greatly lowering last-minute seat surrenders.
• Stabilized Trends: High-demand branches across Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad are near absolute saturation by Iteration 6.
• Settled Counseling: Major engineering counseling tracks concluded ahead of the final rounds by iteration 6.
• CSAB counselling will not cause a major cutoff drop in BITSAT Iteration 7 Students who wanted an NIT/IIIT seat through regular channels already locked their positions back in July during the JoSAA rounds. In top NIT/IIIT there are only few seats are vacants. The crowd remaining in CSAB Special Rounds generally comprises students with lower JEE Main ranks. Any they will leave BITS tags. Even they will be happy with bits lower branch rather then lower NIT/IIIT top bracnhes.
• BITS administration already anticipates a small percentage of late movements every year. To counter this, they buffer or over-allot seats in early rounds and extend a deep waitlist.

  • A substantial number of seats in core branches such as Civil and Mechanical are likely to be vacated, as many candidates currently holding these seats are expected to upgrade to more preferred branches like CSE and ECE/ECS in other colleges.

Based on the latest reporting data, below is the expected final drop in BITSAT Iteration 5 cutoffs for Goa and Hyderabad campuses.

You can expect a maximum drop of only 1–2 marks between Iteration 5 and Iteration 7. This means that Iteration 5 is almost the final cutoff for most branches.
