With her popularity in social media and controversy in other media it’s no surprise there is a surplus of misinformation regarding Santa Muerte. What are common things you’ve heard about Santa Muerte that are proven to be misinformation or a misunderstanding?

I’ve noticed a lot of the popular books like Secrets of Santa Muerte by Cressida Stone have lots of misinformation. That being said why is there some push back with debunking this misinformation or ahistorical notions when it comes to the history and traditions that can be proven (or not)? It feels like some people would rather ignore the actual history and make up their own personal version of Santa Muerte rejecting her traditions

I don't like using bowls for my gods do you guys know what red Han Solo cups is and that they could be cleansed and thrown away respectfully... I’ve been seeing a lot of scams on blackmailing going on. Be careful sharing info with these so-called and Etsy witches. I just saw a few of people talking about Etsy/tiktok witches and how they were blackmailed after complaining about not getting results or asking for a refund. It’s actually scary. They threaten to post you or send the info to your target on social media, etc. so be careful. Check credentials or do the work yourself.
