A Soldier’s Story is a mystery rich with depth!
I gave this movie a watch back in April, and it’s still one of my favourite films I’ve seen all year!
At first glance, the plot seems pretty straightforward, but it’s surprisingly more layered than you’d realize!
If you like creative, thought-provoking mysteries, I strongly recommend this film! It’s a hidden gem you won’t forget!
Also, if you have seen it, please tell me what you thought of it! I’d love to hear what you have to say. 🙂
Down below, I’ll give you a brief summary of what the story is about (with ZERO spoilers) if you’d like a taste:
In rural Louisiana, 1944, a black master sergeant is found murdered outside a local army base. Captain Davenport, a black military lawyer from Washington D.C., is sent to solve the case. Met with prejudice from his superiors and reluctance from the soldiers, Davenport struggles to find a lead. However, the further he progresses into the case, the more certain Davenport becomes that there was more to this murder than he originally suspected. He becomes determined not only to bring the murderer to justice, but to bring the full story to light.
