Ngl all the names I’ve made so far have been made up on the spot, and I have not gone back to change them. A good amount of these are just [adjective] [name]

The further it goes the more I forgot it was meant to be Halloween/horror themed, but I mean, I think it counts? I think.

Don’t know if Sporetober counts as a “contest” so I’m just tagging this as creation

(Unrelated but I got access to mods and online features recently, so that’s cool. Too bad I don’t have the expansions on my EA account, so I just can’t share stuff with expansion content in it)

I was planning on making it out of cardboard, with a shell of pvc over the top (to avoid rain from heavily messing up my costume). Though the body and neck will mostly be made from fabric, even then that shouldn’t be AS bad, I could at least dry that

I’ve updated the design a bit, my arms will instead but at the same level as my head, as to not make the costume have a huge pump in the back(aka my head)

The current head model is the first image, said drawings were only made after the second image was already done.

I’m planning on using hot glue to attach the pieces together

And is you see lines between the pieces of the costume, that’s meant to be craft wire. It’s intended to act as a standing for a muscular structure (jaw, neck, etc)

The thing attached to my waist will be made from more pvc/hard plastic. I intend to have two holes on the sides, as to add a belt for the tail (the tail vertebrae are going to be pentagons)

I am unsure whether or not to make arms for the costume* I’m fine with having my made-up dinosaur freak be armless.

I’m also not sure if I’ll paint it, but recommendations how to do that would also be very appreciated

I plan on having the inner, handle-pvc on the top being lined up with the placement of the eyes (which both will be made from a cut-in-half Christmas ornament)

The lower jaw will also have a handle*

As for the teeth, I’m unsure what I’d use for that. I’m also unsure how many segments I’ll use just yet, or how I’d make the tail stay in a straight line (despite wanting a stiffer tail, I do want some bend to it)

I’ve done work like this, kinda. Was also diy but I’m working with a handful of similar materials, just on a grander scale from what I started with. Which somehow seems easier (mostly with body concealment. Don’t want too many of my human body parts to be noticeable at a glance, with the exception of my legs)

I’d say I know a decent amount about birds, so yeah the face is far more expressive than birds actually get. But counter point, it’s a drawing of a bird

I could hand this bird a gun if I wanted to, who would stop me

Cockatrice - Zeb (Naga/Harpy hybrid)

Zeb is a unique individual, though not in a good way. They are a hybrid between two species that have NO right to be reproducing, and for the most part they don’t. Said species being a Naga and Harpy (Naga as the mother, Harpy as the father)

Despite being very uncommon, it’s not an isolated instance, though Zeb is one of the few to ever reach adulthood(though a young adult). By the time they hatched, the Mother had ate the father. The naga did not recognize Zeb as her own, and left them instead

Whether or not the harpy would have accepted them is up to speculation, even to me. Yes, Harpies in IWAW are a very intelligent species, however to other members of the species, Zeb would look severely disfigured, and would more likely than not be subject to bullying among peers. Though it could of been possible if the father had lived

Both Harpies and Naga can and will eat meat, though Harpies will also subside on fruits, vegetables and bugs (not all Harpies will eat meat, they basically just make up most of the bird niches as a blanket species)

Gargoyle - Jaq

Gargoyles are descendants of bats, of which also lead to the evolution of Vampires (as in one species of bat evolved, and split off into both Gargoyles and Vampires). Gargoyles were the results of a far more terrestrial lifestyle, choosing to crawl and run instead of flying. Eventually they lost the need for wings, their legs becoming far more built for land travel

Jaq is the average size of an Adult Male Gargoyle, he is married. Or more accurately is part of a mated pair, mated pairs and or groups typically share an item they wear or bring around with them. For Jaq, he and his mate both wear metallic bracelets (though they probably call it something else)

As of now in my state of world building, Gargoyles/Vampires both coexist as the most dominant sentient species of Modern Earth (like, millennia after humans left into space and never came back). Both species are quite fond of researching humans and anything they can find about “The Old World”

Gargoyles are generalist omnivores, they will eat anything if it’s to survive. Though they tend to go for savory and spicy (they have very numb tastebuds). Vampires, despite cohabitating, cannot sustain themselves on more herbivorous options, they typically choose to eat the fat off what they hunt first

Both species engage in both polygamy and monogamy, though it varies from individual to individual (like humans)

Though that’s mostly their scientists (if I mention a human job, or just human concept when it comes to any of the IWAW species, just imagine it’s their equivalent of said thing or phrase. None of them speak English, and not all speak a conventional language)

Other - just saying stuff

Hopefully what I said made sense, I have way more to speak about when it comes to I Want A Waffle. It’s been at the front of my mind as of recent and I just keep coming up with stuff

Would say I’m more of a story teller or whatever, but I’m really enjoying coming up with species for IWAW. The Greater Giganto-Rachnids and the Coukna are gonna be rather difficult to make sense though (both of which are Giant, sentient arthropods)

Just sharing the species I have Full-body drawings for though, I do have more. Just haven’t drawn them

Okay yeah idk what else to say, If anything makes no sense, do tell me (if you couldn’t tell I haven’t actually worked on this project much until recently too)

Okay so, this post is focused on making the making the outer mask, its base/skeleton will be made of cardboard, of which will be held together using hot glue or wheat paste. I’d even settle for toothpicks honestly

I know paper mache is most likely stronger than I imagine, I admit I’m probably underestimating it. But I’d prefer to have it be as solid as possible, I’d make it out of metal if I could

But the idea that came to me first was to cover it in either acrylic paint or resin, though I don’t know how well that would work. It’d be my first time working with all three of those(the paper mache, Acrylic paint and resin)

Continuing off that, if I do choose either one. Would it be best to paint onto the paper mache itself first, or should I wait to paint over the acrylic/resin

I am aware the inside has no insulation, I did not consider that while making the back of the outer mask, but it will be added

Extra information (reading not necessary): planning on making my first diy costume this year, planning to start on the building early instead of waiting for October.

I haven’t bought any of the materials yet, as I understand rushing in wouldn’t be smart until I know what I’m doing

The rest of the costume is on a separate drawing, though I’m just here to figure out the mask. The outfit itself(mask not included) is mostly just going to be dyed fabrics and folded paper

Seventh is Sword
And Eighth is one of the many Teams, Lance Sword and Rapier (not fully grown)

A gimmick with said team being that Lance is blind, Sword is mute and Rapier is deaf. That team is also disbanded, by like a quarter as Sword left

I see the type overlap with Corviknight and Crobat. (Corviknight is there as a placeholder/mean of transportation)

The type coverage across individual mons could also probably be better

I’m up to suggestions, but I mostly want to know what I should swap Corviknight for

(CobbleGalaxy has most if not all of the Cobbleverse mod pack’s contents, it’s also on version 1.12.1. Just for context if you didn’t know beforehand)

Ngl I don’t really know much about computers, but not really? My knowledge varies ig

Idk I just really doubt my pc on wether it can run anything, as very consistently it’s shown to be overall mediocre (I searched up the specific model and apparently it’s known for being such)

I’ve been trying to figure this out for a day now. Not including the hours I spent yesterday for nothing

If I swap anything around it doesn’t work as it’s supposed to. Can somebody who knows how to use a capture card tell me what the problem could possibly be?

I’m assuming it’s a problem with the settings of my pc itself, but every video I’ve watched says the same thing and doesn’t really help me, like at all. That’s kinda the only reason I’m here
