Oh wow, I guess I forgot how good Avatars feel to use.
One of my recurring headaches through the GDI campaign in Tib Wars was how clunky Mammoth Tanks feel en masse, you basically have to commit to an attack once it begins because they struggle horrendously to turn around or maneuver, but Avatars feel hella nimble for heavy land units. Honestly, they don't even feel that much weaker than Mammoths, either. Biggest comparable downside is the lack of anti-air, but luckily WE GOT THE ROCKETS.
What I've (re)learned from the first three Nod missions in Tib Wars
Militant Squads: Absolute garbage.
Attack Bikes: God damn these things are lethal en masse and respond quickly to situations changing. I shouldn't be surprised though, these things were a massive nuisance in the first half of the GDI campaign.
Nod feels much smoother to play compared to GDI where moving around the map and pathfinding are concerned.
(This isn't the first time I'm playing Tib Wars, but it's been several years).
I think GDI Berne (Tiberium Wars) is glitched on steam...
The duality of "how to write Petra dialogue".
I've made a very wise financial decision to celebrate my upcoming birthday :D
This is just the start, I ordered a case to keep her in and I'm gonna decorate the inside :)
Now I see why these two get shipped so much.
I'm not saying that I thought it was something as simple as them just being the two most prominent women in the team, I just didn't expect this scene to be as touching as it was :)
It's kind of insane how fast you get Tiberium in TibWars unpatched
I've been doing a C&C series playthrough from Tib Dawn to Tib Wars (not sure if I'll do RA3, I played the Soviet campaign years ago and had no real desire to continue afterward) and I got into the habit of building 2 refineries per field and often an extra miner per refinery. I do that on Tib Wars and EVA won't shut up about silos.
Wait, did Renako just admit to having lewd dreams about Mai?
During that scene in volume 5 where she has a nightmare about >!Hanatori killing her with a chainsaw!<, she casually drops that having "quality time" with Mai in her bed was part of the dream.
I guess freedom and vengeance have a way of motivating people
How bad do you think Hanatori's crashout will be if she ever realizes...
That one of the biggest obstacles to Mai/Satsuki is Satsuki herself?
I love how wholesome the War Miner is in Yuri's Revenge
"Pride of the working class!"
"Equal share for everyone!"
He's so proud to be a blue collar guy :)
I just cleared the base RA2 Soviet Campaign in a single day yesterday
I'm kinda surprised at how short and easy the RA2 campaigns are, though granted Red Revolution is probably one of the harder official missions Westwood's ever made in general.
Anyways, on to absolute peak with Yuri's Revenge, and then I think I might try Mental Omega out :)
I see that a lot of folks around here in particular really like him, but aside from late Azure I mostly found him a very frustrating character. His cheesiness, denseness, and the way everyone around him seems to catch the Barriers Virus were always more annoying than endearing to me.
I think that's the only case in the entirety of Red Alert 2 single player where the AI will build a superweapon without the player's provocation. Did Westwood use a skirmish AI for the enemy in that map, or is it a safeguard in case the player camps all the enemy spawns on the main island?
I seem to recall back when I played Tiberian Sun as a kid, they would intercept Nod missile superweapons that fly through them while activated, but they don't seem to work while I'm playing now.
I've been in your head for four volumes now, Renako, I'm gonna press X on that one.
>!The ride with Mai in the limo was adorable, it's always fun seeing Mai immediately shrivel up the minute Renako's the one initiating physical contact.!<
I knew it'd be easier than Tib Dawn and Red Alert, but I underestimated how much easier. I'm gonna man up and play Firestorm, Red Alert 2, and Yuri's Revenge on Hard. For the latter two I have no excuses, since they're the C&C games I'm most familiar with.
I don't even care if the reward isn't worth it, I'll never say no to a Cyborg Commando mission.
The start is absolutely brutal with 4 tick tanks and 2 artillery arriving in staggered numbers while you have to deal with some dev making the bad day they were having everyone else's problem in the form of nearly all the starting Tiberium and even your base being covered by base game busted artillery, but then once you deal with all that and have your economy finally going... nothing. Extremely passive Nod mostly just using infantry, tanks, and bikes, and one of the easiest Nod bases to take in the entire campaign.
