Negotiating rental price

Should I negotiate a £50 pound discount in rent a month, if im paying 6 months upfront in an area just outside glasgow. Or is this a bad idea, as i'm self employed, (slightly higher risk), or is the market around glasgow too competitive to do this? will it be a disadvantage to me? I think, if you don't ask you don't get, but I don't want shoot myself in the foot and lose out completely - but don't want to lose out by not asking too, ive always managed to negotiate rent down.

Ancestry or myheritage

My family is of indian ancestry, and are from Simla (British resided in 19th, 18th century), im trying to work out if I have english great grandfather. My father look mixed, so do I. I got my dads my heritage dna test done, it showed irish, scottish, welsh ancestry, but that dissapeared when they did the update. Should I bother to get the ancestry dna done for my dad? Or is it a waste of money?
