Homeless on Long Island

Resident of Suffolk, work in Nassau, no shelters available for my circumstances, the DSS won't help because I am currently working. No friends or family to stay with and no history of substance abuse, believe it or not. Gimme your best advice because I don't want to live like this.

EDIT: I work 30hrs a week minimum wage, and I have a friend willing to help me set up a PO box.

Looking for advice for a friend ASAP

My friend needs to get away from her toxic family as soon as possible, and given her situation (her grandparents, the only family she has nearby who she can stay with, enable her dad to some extent) she thinks the only option is going to a DV shelter. She can move in with a friend but I think in her situation she needs all the legal support possible before moving someplace more permanent. She has a job and goes to college but does not have her own phone, bank account, and cannot drive. Her dad emotionally abuses, isolates, and gaslights her severely and it keeps getting worse. She's had serious suicidal ideation as well and has attempted before. Right now the plan is to continue moving her belongings slowly to her grandparents house (they know the situation is bad enough to keep this one thing secret), go to the shelter shortly after turning 18, and then move in with her friend's family before starting school again. Please let me know what else can be done because she has very few connections IRL and her situation is getting unbearable.

Does anybody else here have absolutely no love for their narcissistic parent(s)?

After fully coming to terms with the shit my father put both me and my mother through, I literally cannot feel anything towards him aside from disgust. I used to think my mom was a narcissist and emotionally neglectful, but I literally can't anymore because now that she's gone I'm forced to live with what she probably had to deal with every day for the last 20 years of her life. No wonder she was so distant with me while still trying to do everything possible for us kids -- she probably worked herself to death to make sure our dad didn't get to us all while keeping him happy and being submissive to his schizophrenic whims. And as the oldest daughter, I get all the bullshit now.

I can't take this anymore

I was in a relationship with a drug user that hardly lasted a month. I know that I shouldn't be so traumatized by it and glad that I had the self-respect to get out as fast as I did, but he was my best friend before this all happened, and I miss him like hell. It's been exactly five months since he relapsed after trying to quit "for me". I love him so much. We're no contact at the moment, and I really don't see any possibility of us ever getting back in touch. I saw him try to get better after I helped his mom intervene by telling her about his drug problem, but now it seems like he's slipping back again. He also has an eating disorder and is losing too much weight. I have no close friends and very little family support, and back when I used to have friends they all told me I was making a big fuss over a complete dickhead and that I should focus on myself instead of him. That didn't help, because not only was I trying to focus more on myself then and just needed the occasional space to talk about him, but because I know he's not a bad person at all. He was the closest person I ever had and was extremely kind until he relapsed. I want to reach out so badly but know not to. I can't handle this pain anymore. My entire life fell in shambles after we broke up, and I just want him happy and healthy and safe. I know there's nothing I can do.

(For context, I am unable to seek professional help at the moment but plan to as soon as I can.)
