Found while walking my dog on the Willamette River

I’ve posted this in a few subreddits; but no one seems to know if this is a bone, a rock, fossil, or petrified wood. Any ideas?

Help with identification please

I found this while walking my dog along the Willamette River in Oregon. My gut tells me it’s petrified wood, because of the unique shape and texture of the grain. I posted to the rock Reddits, but nobody has replied.

Sweet rock with lines and super smooth

Was walking the hound down by the Willamette River today and came upon this rock. It stood out from the rest of the round river rock, due to its shape and texture. It’s very hard and I can run my fingernails against the long straight lines and feel the ridges. On what I call the bottom face, it looks like marrow from a bone (which I know it’s not, just the best way to describe it).

It’s Nugget’s 15th birthday 🎉

Excited for him to get his permit and help out with the driving!
We adopted Sir Nugget when he was six years old and he’s been family ever since!

Nugget and his best pal, Edith

Nugget will be turning fifteen in about a month! This is his best friend, Edith. She’s a four year old Beagle and keeps a close watch over him

Asheville NC to ATL Airport

Next Saturday I am leaving Asheville and heading to the Atlanta airport. I’ll be leaving Asheville around 10:00 am (if not earlier) and my flight doesn’t leave Atlanta until around 7:30 pm. So I’ll have so time to kill and wondered which way to drive down there. I’m from the west coast and have never been further east than Boise, Idaho in my fifty years. So I’d like to experience as much as possible on that last day. I realize it’s Memorial Day weekend, and I’m not sure what to expect with traffic and such.
Thanks in advance!

They’re getting bigger

I posted here not too long ago and was given some great feedback. I ended up buying some Foxfarm Grow Big and fed them on the seventh of May. They spent the last two nights alone outside and, so far, so good!
Thanks for the advice and not blasting me for being new at the pepper process.

Heading to Asheville next week

Hello! I will be staying in your area next week to watch my son compete in the track and field nationals at UNC-Asheville. I’ll be traveling with my daughter-in-law and her father. We’re in our 50s and she is in her early twenties. This is the first time I’ve been east of the Rockies in my life and wanted to make the most out of it. We will be at the meet on Wednesday, but have all day Thursday and Friday to explore. The three of us enjoy history and hiking. Is the drive to Gatlinburg via the Smokies worth it? We aren’t into drinking much, so that wipes out the breweries.
Also, we fly out of ATL, so Saturday we have to drive back down there, but our flight isn’t until 9:30 PM, so any other ideas for that would be awesome too!
For what it’s worth, we’re coming from Salem, Oregon, which seems to have a similar vibe to Asheville.
I did my best to check this sub before posting, so if I missed something let me know. Thank you very much

How should I be fertilizing these guys? I did a half teaspoon to 32 ounces last time. Not sure the best solution to mix up and how to split it amongst the trays. Any help would be greatly appreciated
