I was reading The Mountain Is You and came across an idea that really made me think.
Basically, the book talks about how sometimes we subconsciously block ourselves from achieving something because we have negative beliefs attached to it. One example was wealth. Like, you might consciously want to become rich, but deep down you may believe that “rich people are greedy/bad/corrupt,” so your brain basically associates being wealthy with becoming a bad person.
And honestly, that got me thinking.
Do we actually believe that rich people are bad because we’ve seen enough examples of wealthy people behaving badly? Or do we sometimes tell ourselves that because we aren’t rich ourselves, and it makes it easier to distance ourselves from something we want?
Obviously, there are rich people who are genuinely terrible, exploitative, or unethical. But there are also wealthy people who seem to be decent human beings. After being heard of terrible things tht rich do like Epst3in files etc im genuinely scared….
So I’m curious:
1. Do you think being rich changes a person, or does money just reveal who they already were?
2. Do you think the idea that “rich people are bad” can subconsciously stop someone from wanting to become wealthy?
3. Have you ever caught yourself having a negative belief about money or wealthy people that you later realized might be holding you back?

I’m seriously thinking about switching my career path to English Literature because I’ve realized I genuinely enjoy teaching and academics. My end goal is to become a university professor and eventually do a PhD.
I’d love to hear from Literature students, graduates, PhD scholars, professors, or literally anyone who’s been through this journey.
Is English Literature still a good field to get into, or is the job market really that bad?
Which country would you recommend for doing a Master’s, PhD, and eventually settling into academia? I’m looking for a place where I can realistically build a long-term career as a professor.
How hard is it to actually become a university lecturer/professor in your country?
Is it possible for international students to stay back and find work after graduation?
What’s the reality of the job market? I don’t want the sugar-coated version I want the actual situation.
I’ve also been seeing a lot of reels saying that in Spain you can do your Master’s while teaching English part-time or in language academies, and then continue with a PhD. Is that actually legit, or is social media just making it look easier than it is? If anyone has firsthand experience, I’d love to hear it.

I’m a student using an iPad 10th generation, which I bought almost 2 years ago (around 3 months left until it’s been 2 years).
I recently started having issues with my Apple Pencil USB-C. It recently started to disconnect randomly, disappears from Bluetooth, and only reconnects when I plug it in again. I’ve already tried restarting the iPad, forgetting and repairing the Pencil, and removing other Bluetooth devices, but the issue keeps coming back.
Gpt says its battery or hardware issue of usb c pencil itself
Since I’m on a student budget, buying a brand new Apple Pencil isn’t really an option right now.
Can anyone recommend:
Good USB-C stylus alternatives that work well with the iPad 10th Gen?
Any budget-friendly options you’ve personally used?
Or if anyone is reselling an Apple Pencil USB-C in good condition, please lemme know

i completed my +1 nd +2 during covid time had 2 yrs of gap(actually prepared for cuet ug-when it was first introduced) now im graduating in BA (hons) uiux degree 3 yrs. since childhood i was a science nerd always dreamt of being a scientist nd very intrested in research...i took uiux in the hopes of becoming a ux researcher..but now i realized its still too early to give up on that scientist dream..i want to go for the uiux job and prallelly prepare for cuetpg for public health(social epidemiology) then complete masters nd join as a scientist b(non-medical) at ICMR or National institute of Digital India...is it possible? i dont know much about public health nd ICMR scientist B notifications

so back till 2024 december im a huge fan of appreciating life, stories, poems, words and every character i find in life...after a very nice heart break in jan 2025 i think i changed from from blue to white as pale as ever...idk if im drained or just faded with time...i used to have great passion for life, poetry, movies, novels, stories, dance now from a year none of them interest me anymore..i used to love research design art but all of them feel like strangers i have never known my entire life...i started procastinating things when on a full blown exstential crisis then total nihilism for months now im at a place where i dont even know what to do with my time..i have my design interviews coming up my clg is asking for my portfolio but i dont the least concern/interest in them...i dont even listen to music the same way...all i can do is come to reddit nd read gossips nd how bad the govt nd ppl are.....ii have ppl tht are loving/caring me i fear they are worried about me rn but if i dont change may be they will leave too??? what to do??

so im 22 now but when i was 17-20 i used to love puri nd his musings nd his movies...tho i find heroeines roles in his movies literal flowerpots i used to love the fire he used to create around hero character(like neninthey) his words were so strong for me it impacted my personality nd mentality it helped me (esp: his motivating podcast) ofc ofc now i know better but then there was no one to tell me me about new things, info or someone motivating me to be an expert in what i do....a year ago i had a very hard heartbreak the whole time (strong people eps of his musings and someother podcasts rlly helped me) gradually i stopped doing things like listening to these podcast instead binge watched nd procastinated finally ive decided to once go back nd do things i used to do when i was happy nd his podcast was one of them...but today i stopped at where he said "adavallu item la ready hythey chey patkoni lagutharu" cant believe i stopped getting ready wearing nail polish back then after i listened to this line...literallyyyyyy!!! omgggggg i used to hate ppl who got ready after listening to this eps...some eps are good ngl but some are worst...i think now accept tht he is scrappp...but personally i think everyone has positives nd negatives in them...his words philosophies were once the reason i was soo working hard in my life living everymoment of it - i remember he said "oka kaka hotel lo kurchoni chai thagina chala peaceful ga aa moment ni enjoy cheyali not sure but i remember this way.....its sad...tht i didnt had this maturity to understand whats actually he was telling at that time...nd its more sad tht my fav director is not little toxic as i thought he is a lot more(crying fr)
