INAD abuse

I recently sold a video game cartridge (for $15) under "very good condition" and the buyer opened An INAD case which I had to pay for the return and then I had to refund the buyer.

Ebay describes very good in the video games category as "...There is minimal wear on the exterior of the item..." and the buyer opened INAD due to a crease that is very hard to see, and could only be seen if looked at from the right angle. I wasn't even aware of that minimal crease for this exact reason. If the buyer is so concerned about the cosmetic details, why didn't he ask for more pictures? Furthermore, even new video games have such slight imperfections, for example cartridge stickers are not centered in many cases.

I feel like this is an abuse of the buyer protection and just wanted to ask what I need to do to avoid this in the future? Should I never list items under "very good condition"? Should I put in the description "I did my best in capturing the defects but there may be more"?

Team was not overconfident, they were too nervous

I don't know why people think the team was overconfident and they didn't put any effort. It was so obvious from the start of the Aus game that the team was nervous as shit. Especially in the Paraguay game, no risky passes or shoots. It tells me a lot when Arda and Hakan thinks twice before shooting from distance in the Paraguay game. Kenan, who has great composure, tried so many cheap shoots just to get rid of the ball. Ismail didn't have his usual guts, Ferdi didn't make the half space runs, so and and on.

This team broke under the pressure. If you think this team didn't put enough effort in the game, or they were too confident, you are delusional.

WM-D6 motor spinning when playback stopped

I just got an excellent condition WM-D6 for $350 bucks, it clearly needs a belt replacing but all the functions work, except today I realized there is buzzing sound coming from inside when no button has been pressed, when nothing should be running. Upon removing the battery, waiting for some time and putting them back, motor spinning stopped and came back after 10 minutes, and in the meantime I didn't press any buttons, I just put the batteries in and put the walkman on my desk.

Someone in one of the forums mentioned the speed adjustment chip, which is almost impossible to get now. While $350 was a decent deal for a "perfectly working" walkman, I can still claim a return on ebay because it is clearly not "perfectly working".

What are your thoughts on whether this can be easily fixed, if yes what is the fix? Should I return this?

IT'S NOT OVER

Yes, horrible performance and player selection. Still, it's not over. We are with Montella at least until the end of the world cup even if we concede 100 goals in the next two games.

We had Karabag and Spain embarrassments but we stood up and fought back. This time we will stand up as well.

Back to life!

New belt, some cleaning and done. Removing the deteriorated foam in the battery compartment was the hardest thing honestly.

I love the old walkmans, a few screws and you are in, unlike the newer models where you have to desolder so many cables just to replace the belt, and I am always unlucky with the auto switch mechanisms and they are very hard to fix.

80+ applications, not a single interview

This is going to be mostly a rant, because that's the only thing I feel nowadays.

I am graduating this month from an economics phd program from a top-40 university. I started the job applications with economics consulting jobs which regularly hire Econ phd graduates, then I pivoted to industry roles. I applied for economist positions which are a few, then to so many economics-related data science jobs.

I applied to jobs where I am underqualified, overqualified, just-right qualified. I applied with more of an academic CV, and mostly with industry tailored CVs. I made my own CV, have my CV drafted by LLMs, I did the draft myself and let an LLM fix a few things. I applied within many sectors: finance, tech, real estate, consulting, non-profits. I paid attention to keywords. I applied to a few companies with referrals, and for one it was 2 different manager-level referrals. Tried many things with many different companies...

At the end of the day, no interviews, 0. I feel like my degree which I spent 6 years at a relatively prestigious university means nothing. Having a phd also means my job options are way more narrower. For most jobs in the market I would get an automatic rejection because they will think I am using them as a stepping stone (hell, I am getting an automatic rejection regardless).

I couldn't do any internships because I had a baby and needed to take care of her. People in my program who got internships just walked into their full-time jobs, whereas I need to run a hurdle marathon just to be able to get an interview for their positions. Now the fact that I need maybe 5 interviews realistically to get an offer, I don't have any hopes.

Gameboy Pocket IPS screen problem

I just installed a laminated ips screen on my gameboy pocket, and although the system functions (I hear all the game sounds) the screen is just displaying this weird image (as if the polarizer is burnt), sometimes slowly fading or coming back. I tried with the ribbon cable so many times, I don't think there are any shorts on the pcb, any other ideas?
