An incident in Gion, Kyoto

I found a footage of a recent incident in Gion Kyoto.

Could you tell me your thoughts?

A security footage shows a foreign tourist destroying an expensive (200,000JPY) traditional lantern. While I understand that not all foreign visitors act like this, the reality is that many Japanese people—especially residents in tourist destinations like Kyoto—are exhausted by this kind of nuisance behavior.

When visiting Japan, please make sure not to engage in such actions, and if you see anyone causing trouble, please help by stepping in to stop them.

Which strap fits the best?

I replaced the metal band on my The Citizen (AQ4091-56W) with several leather straps. Which strap fits the best? Please let me know your thoughts.

Watches with green dials seem to be anti-strap monsters.

[Discussion] A metal bracelet or a leather strap?

This may be a topic that has been discussed many times before, but I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Which do you prefer a metal bracelet or a leather strap? And why?

The Citizen with a leather strap

I swapped the metal bracelet on my The Citizen (AQ4091-56W) for a leather strap. The weight dropped from 86g to 56g—it feels as light as a feather now!

3 Grail Pens of mine

Sailor King of Pen Briarwood

Pilot Custom Urushi

Platinum Izumo Tagayasan

Among the three, the briarwood KOP is the one I use most frequently. I rely on it for almost all of my intellectual tasks, whether keeping a journal or organizing my thoughts. It features a medium (M) nib. When it comes to writing in small print, I turn to my Platinum Izumo; its fine (F) nib allows me to draw sharp, precise lines. As for the Pilot Custom Urushi, it provides the smoothest and most luxurious writing experience of the three, making it my choice when I want to write with deep thought and emotion.

Platinum Izumo Tagayasan

"Izumo" is the name of a sacred land for the Japanese people, home to Izumo Taisha, one of the most prestigious Shinto shrines alongside Ise Jingu. Platinum named this luxury line of pens after Izumo, the birthplace of the company’s founder. Although this model hasn't received as much attention overseas, it represents a luxury line into which Platinum has poured its prestige. Personally, it is a cherished pen of mine that fits beautifully and comfortably in the hand though the nib is considerably stiffer with much less spring compared to Sailor’s KOP or Pilot’s Custom Urushi. Platinum's firm nibs offer a distinct advantage when it comes to drawing precise, intricate lines.
