I am looking to connect with students who believe the current JEE Advanced eligibility rule deserves a review.
Current rule:
Only 2 attempts
In 2 consecutive years
Second droppers are ineligible
This is not a demand to lower standards, increase seats, or make IIT admissions easier.
The argument is that some students lose a fair opportunity due to circumstances such as:
Financial difficulties
Lack of guidance during school years
Educational disadvantages
Family responsibilities
Health-related interruptions
Discovering their interest in engineering seriously only after Class 12
Even under any revised policy, students would still need to:
Qualify JEE Main
Compete in the same JEE Advanced exam
Meet the same merit standards
Possible alternatives that could be proposed:
Three attempts in three consecutive years
Two attempts within a three-year window after Class 12
I am considering creating:
A discussion group
A student survey
A formal petition
A collective representation to the relevant authorities
Before doing that, I want to know how many students are genuinely interested in contributing.
If you support a review of the rule or would like to help with a petition/representation effort, comment below or send me a message.
