EmbeddingGemma 2 is an open multimodal embedding model built by Google DeepMind which maps text (incl. code), images, video, and audio inputs—and combinations thereof—into a single, unified 768-dimensional vector space. The model has 740M total parameters, combining a 270M parameter text model with modular vision (170M) and audio (300M) encoders.

Designed to run on consumer hardware such as mobile devices and laptops, EmbeddingGemma 2 delivers low-latency semantic representations for on-device applications, like search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), classification, and clustering.

This has to be causing chaos for anyone trying for imminent scale, right? Particularly for consumer ADAS.

Today, Geely Auto officially unveiled its “AI-driven” charging technology, “Geely Smart Charge.” which is powered by Geely’s energy large model, Xingrui PowerMind. The centrepiece of the announcement is the new Geely Smart Charge station, which features a single-gun peak power output of 2,250 kW, setting a new industry record.

Geely also introduced its new generation of Aegis Golden Brick ultra-short blade batteries:

• 12C battery: Featured in the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001, this 395 mm battery achieves a peak charging rate of 12C. Under normal temperatures, it can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 4 minutes and 30 seconds, and from 10% to 97% in about 8 minutes and 40 seconds.
• 6C battery: The 370 mm version, debuting in the new Geely Galaxy E5, offers a peak charging rate of 6C, achieving a 10% to 70% charge in approximately 8 minutes and 25 seconds.

By the end of 2027, the company aims to deploy over 100,000 charging guns nationwide, with more than 50,000 being Geely Smart Charge units, ensuring coverage across all counties in China.
