Level 2 Charger Recommendations

Excited to be joining the Vistiq club. The thing is a technical marvel and a work of art.

I'm limping by on level one charging, but I think an upgrade is going to be needed. I would want to stick with a charger that is compatible with my local utility's discounts, so my choice is between:

Charge Point  Home Flex CPH25 or Home Flex CPH50

Wallbox Pulsar Plus

Emporia (any model)

Anyone have suggestions based on experience with Vistiq's or other GM models? I think I'm in a good place regarding panel space and service capacity, but I'll need an electrician to confirm.

Thanks!

EQS SUV vs Vistiq

I asked the same question on the Vistiq subreddit a while back and that broke toward the Cadillac as would be expected, so I wanted to get the view from over here.

I've now test driven both and it feels like they each have some positives and a few weaknesses. Overall the EQS seems to have better tech (the bigger screens, enhanced customization, better exterior cameras, etc.) and slightly better NVH dampening and handling, but I find the Cadillac more comfortable to sit in, its SuperCruise capable, and I prefer the styling. The Vistiq's extra ride height is nice, but I don't really need to bigger vehicle.

Fully loaded CPO EQS SUVs are getting more expensive in my area (if they can be found), and fully loaded 26 Vistiq demos with ~10k or less miles can be had for only about 15K more. The Vistiq also is cheaper to insure, has lower cost extended warranty coverage, and I haven't heard of people having the kind of wheel damage issues that seem to come up with the EQS (I do a lot of city driving on terrible streets, and the EQS trims I'm looking at all come with 21 inch wheels).

Edit to add: I don't use Carplay so that isn't a factor.

Overall I think I'm leaning slightly towards the EQS right now, but I'd appreciate thoughts from folks familiar with both vehicles.

Thanks!

Vistiq vs EQS SUV and similar alternatives

Hi all,

I've been looking at CPO EQS SUVs but keep getting intrigued by the Vistiq. I like the HUD design and screen layout on the EQS580 (the long, thin screens don't seem as usable as the big central display), but the Vistiq's exterior looks are far better, and I think I prefer the more modest interior as well. Its taller and looks like the seating position sits a bit higher, but unfortunately the only Vistiq my local dealer had was in the showroom and unavailable for a test drive.

I'm looking for ride quality, comfort, and technology. Hands free driving sounds nice, but I'm not sure if getting yelled out for taking a drink is better than keeping one hand on the wheel. I don't really need a third row, but most of the two row EV options sit lower than I like.

Wanting a HUD bumps me up to the Premium Luxury or Platinum Trim. A 23 or 24 EQS has already depreciated considerably, even a used 26 Vistiq probably has a lot of depreciation coming over the next year or two. I prefer to but rather than lease, so financially the EQS seems to make the most sense.

For those that have cross shopped or had both, is there an argument to splurge for the Vistiq?

Thanks!

For reference, I've crossed the iX, EX90, and Gravity off my list thus far.

Looking at a CPO Mercedes and trying to understand options for warranties beyond the 1 year CPO. It sounds like my options are to get a second year of CPO, or to purchase an ELW that starts when the CPO ends. Potentially I could get a second year of CPO, and then add an ELW? Are all these combinations possible, or is there anything I should avoid?

When do I need to make purchase decisions? Does it need to be done during the original warranty period, the first year of CPO, or some other time period?

I know there are some aftermarket options out there, but reviews seem mixed even for exclusionary policies so I'm hesitant to go that route.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Still researching the EQS and test drove a 580. I noticed that when I rest my arm on the center armrest it lays across the various controls there. Curious if anyone has had any issues inadvertently hitting something or if the buttons are pretty good at only responding to a firm press?

Thanks!

I wanted to see how folks like the native navigation and traffic on their vehicles. I'm used to using Android Auto in my Lincoln, but my understanding is the overall experience on an EQ is better with the native system--especially if using the HUD. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
