How can intertextuality actually inform someone about the story?

I watched a YouTube video by GiBi's Horror Homestead where he talked about how the FNAF book Fetch referenced Brigadoon, and that helped inform the narrative of Fetch. I looked up the term for it and apparently it's called intertextuality. I want to use this in my own stories, but I have no idea what it's supposed to inform. I have a character named Jed Dean who's a reference to two Beverly Hillbillies characters, and I would like to inform something about Jed Dean using Jed Clampett, but how would that work? I could reference something about Clampett's distain for Alcohol to inform the player (because I'm writing a videogame), but unless Dean's distain for Alcohol comes up, wouldn't that be irrelevant? It would inform nothing about him aside from his character, which is irrelevant for a character who was created for lore and worldbuilding. And if it does come up, then how would using Jed Clampett be a reference? Dean's connection to Clampett would then be the irrelevant element. I would like to learn how to do this, but I feel like my "It's either said in the story, or it doesn't matter," mindset is holding me back from the actual solution.

I started adding a randomizer for Rocket Man X's first content update

I'm still working out some kinks, like 1-ups not updating the health UI, and logic, but so far the picking up items part is working great

Can my videogame get sued if it features Sonichu?

Basically I'm making a videogame in which you can buy hats from an in game shop. No microtransactions or anything, all currency is earned through playing. But I want to include an item called "The cursed medallion" which is just the Sonichu medallion. But I was wondering if I could get into legal trouble with either sega, Nintendo, or Chris Chan. I'd also be willing to make it Pikanic instead if needed.

Is there a maximum number of morph targets a mesh can have or something?

I have a character I've been modifying for the entire game. He has armor that's put on and taken off via morph targets. But the last piece of armor that I just added doesn't seem to be on the mesh anywhere. also its morph target isn't there. And when I import the new animation there, for some reason the morph target for a different thing is gone.

Edit: Never mind. the piece of armor was too small in basis, so Unreal just deleted it

How would you make a platforming level for a game with infinite one-sided wall jumps?

In my game, most levels are inside buildings. I can't simply put the player outside. However, the main character can infinitely wall jump. Similar to the mega man x Series. In those games, they got around it by having bumps in the walls that makes the player have to swap which wall they're wall jumping off of (Flame stag from X2 is a great example of this.) However, that worked because those games were 2D, and you couldn't jump on the back walls that connected the 2 that you jump on. My game is 3D, and this is causing some major problems for me, because you can just swap to the bridging walls if I ever did that to the players. This has lead to most platforming being on floating platforms in rooms full of non-wall jumpable walls, but I would like to not take wall jumping away from the player a third time. Does anyone know how they would do this?

Can I undo this stupid update without factory resetting my phone?

Gmail looks like it was designed by Daredevil, and when you do the dual screen with the clock app and have the clock on the right side while holding it correctly, the pause button is underneath the 3 lines button. This is unacceptable. I need this fixed. How do I undo these awful changes? I don't want to factory reset my phone just in case I need something that I forgot to back up, but I'll do it if it's necessary
