Residential loan documentation?

My job is causing me to be an excessive distance from home, and I need a residence. I am married with kids and not moving them. I’d like to use a tsp residential loan so that I can have a primary residence as needed/necessary near work.

Ideally I would not change my drivers license and tax status, but I don’t know what constitutes primary residence. For me it would be primary, as my family home would be secondary/weekends.

I’m not concerned about the return risk of a tsp loan, especially given the mortgage rates.

What I’m concerned with is what hoops TSP makes you jump through to justify a residence as primary. And what documentation is necessary.

It’s far from a house in the mountains or at the beach, there’s no mistaking it for a secondary or vacation home. But what documentation is needed? What steps taken regarding residency?

Thanks!

Second residence in DC, no CCW - registration?

I’m a resident of another state, who has a residence in DC. I don’t have ccw in my home state. I’d like to be able to bring a firearm to my residence to take to ranges in the area.

So Im not traveling through, which MPD has covered on their site. Im not CCW. Injust want to bring, store, and come and go from my dc residence with a firearm.

Does this require registration? I’m having a hard time verifying because I’m not looking for CCW.

Thanks for the help.

Getting better but not seeing gains

Is it just that I’m a year older every year? (I’m mid 40s).

No formal swim training, I wasn’t ever on a team or anything.

But year over year, I’ve trained more and more on a masters team, and I can feel that I’m more in shape, can swim faster longer, and are more efficient.

For reference, in a masters meet, I’m around 15s for 25m, 35s for 50m, and 1:19 for 100m free. I’m very disappointed by this. Year over year I’ve gained about a second on the 25 and 50. I never did the 100 before.

So three years ago, my first meet ever, when I only swam laps by myself, I was actually almost 2s faster on the 25m free. Last year despite similar training to this year, I could do a 33s 50m. I’ve regressed despite getting stronger, thinner, and swimming much more and feeling much better in my strokes?!?

What’s going on? I’m sure some of it is starts and turns, but I’ve improved those too over the years. My first meet I didn’t even know how to flip turn until three days before, because I never did it swimming laps for exercise.

So i have something wrong. Getting old sucks but i dont feel like that’s a god explanation. How does a relatively serious middle age swimmer get improvements? I want to get to 12s 25m, 30s 50m, and 1:00 100m.

How much does length to diameter ratio make a difference? I could lose some weight, though I’m lighter than I’ve been the last two years and I’m not obese.

Thanks!!

Troubleshooting - headlights flashing

Recently bought a Ford Bronco 1/24. Only other RC car we have is a Traxxas, and it’s a fast truck type, not a crawler.

Charged the battery, it worked. My child took it to play with it with other kids that have a course, and shortly after getting into it, headlights flashed and it could steer but not move.

The battery was swapped, and the same thing happened again.

We use the stock usb charger, which I understand isn’t great. But the fast that an otherwise known good battery also caused the fault is concerning. There doesn’t seem to be much info by way of troubleshooting.

Any recommendations on how/where to start for this?

High yield money market for petty cash in E*trade Roth?

We have an old E*trade Roth.

Sometimes there is petty cash due to dividends or other things paid out.

I understand that E*Trade doesn’t have proprietary funds, and the interest they give in a bank sweep is lousy.

So is there an etf money market fund or similar vehicle to park cash?

I’m talking hundreds of dollars. So enough to be worth it to deal with it, but not enough to be a huge thing.

Thanks!

Bosch 300 vs 800 series range weight difference

Looking at 300 vs 800 series Bosch ranges. The 800 series is twice as expensive. But more interesting, is around 50 lbs heavier. They both have essentially the same burner power and oven volume.

Is the difference useful, like more insulation, more steel, or what? And does it improve performance in a meaningful way?

Pro Xtra Perk progress?

I did some large purchases on my pro account, and it gave me progress to unlock perks. Subsequently, I made a number of purchases, and the person handling payment didn’t enter the pro info.

I uploaded the receipts after the fact. But the q&a for pro perks doesn’t imply that doing so will add that spend to the progress. It only says that giving the pro number at checkout, or linking a credit card will do it.

Does anyone know of uploading the receipts after after works for unlocking more perks? The ones I was getting was $25 off a future purchase.

Thanks!
