Is 7.4% Post Office MIS Underrated Compared With SBI & Canara Bank FDs?

I’m comparing the Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) at 7.4% for 5 years with 5-year FD options from public-sector banks like SBI and Canara Bank.

MIS looks interesting because it provides monthly interest income, while a cumulative FD can compound the interest.

For someone looking for a relatively safe investment for 5 years, which would you choose?

Post Office MIS @ 7.4% vs SBI/Canara Bank 5-year FD

Or is there any other better low-risk option that I should consider instead?

I’m mainly looking at government/PSU-backed or similarly safe investments, rather than private-bank FDs.

Would love to hear what others are doing and why.

Airtel Has Changed the ₹299 Plan — Is BSNL a Better Option Now?

I noticed today that Airtel has changed its prepaid recharge plans, and the ₹299 plan seems to be affected.

Has anyone else noticed these changes? Are any other popular Airtel recharge plans also being discontinued or changed?

Also, with these changes, is it a good time to consider moving from Airtel to BSNL? How is BSNL’s network, 4G speed, and coverage in your area?

Would like to know what others are experiencing. 🙏

Has your 20L water can price gone up too?

In my area, 20L water cans have gone from ₹10 to ₹20. I was surprised because ₹10 felt like the standard price for years.

What are you paying in your city?

₹10

₹15

₹20

More?

Also, how do these water can businesses make a profit? They have to cover purification, transportation, delivery, electricity, maintenance, and replacing damaged cans. Is the business still profitable, or are they just making money through volume and repeat customers?
