Scheduling for New Hires

Hi! I was just hired last week and my first day was August 4th. I worked 4 days & this week I worked 5. Im not scheduled again until the 25th! I was wondering if this is ‘normal’ for new hires or if maybe anyone else had this happen to them o_O I’m gonna ask my manager if I can pick up some more shifts for sure but I remember they mentioned I could pick some up through Billboard, although I didn’t see it on BBY connect. Thanks in advance!

Sleep Medication Question

I genuinely don’t know where to post this and it might sound concerning but I’m going through one of the lowest points of my life and I think I just want to sleep all day today to make up for all the sleepless nights. The only sleeping pills I have are 22.5 mg Temazepam, prescribed. I want to know, how many of these can I take through the course of one day? I’m not trying to hurt myself, I’m basically just trying to knock myself out for the whole day in case one pill doesn’t work. Sorry mods in advance if this kind of post isn’t allowed, but I tried to follow the rules.

Are you from one of the 39 banned countries?

Hello to everyone on this gorgeous Wednesday morning. I hope we had a great Memorial Day!

I just recently peeped the 39 countries ban list and I’m from one of them, from Venezuela. I’m trying to stay positive like I said I would, but it’s harrowing to have the knowledge that I will effectively be undocumented indefinitely for the first time in 13 years. If you want to vent, or simply discuss possibilities, please feel free to leave a comment here. I think it’d help me feel better to see people in the same boat as me.

Filed 12/13, expires 05/28.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t shitting myself thinking about this steaming pile of horse shit set before me.

I’ve been living in the US since 2001, since I was only a year old. I just think it’s insane that even after all this time, I’m not recognized by the only place I’ve ever known as my home as a citizen. I’m 26 years old this year. I could go on and on about how awful it is; which, we all know it is, but it’s so easy— too easy to fall into a negative mindset.

As of writing this post, I still have a week to find out what will happen. And even if it does expire, I’ll be out of work for a while until my new documents come and then I can just go back to work. I can put all that free time I could be dedicating to worrying and being fearful of the worst that’s to come into investing in myself, instead. I can do the things I love, I can transform my body in the way I want, I can spend time with my loved ones. And honestly, even if I DO get some world ending news, it will never take away the fact that I, and YOU, that WE have a right to live here, to exist, to take up space. It’s okay to be scared, I know we all have things we need to take care of, people we need to take care of, bills to pay etc. but we do belong here. This is our home, and we deserve better than this, and we deserve to enjoy life in times of hardship and uncertainty. Your life matters. I hope my little post helps you feel at least a little better.
