I am an ex-Chabad woman, left 5 years ago, and ever since I left, I discovered that there were many Chabad sexual predators that lived in very close proximity to me. On a few occasions, I came face-to-face and even conversed with some of these people without ever knowing that they were predators. Do any of you relate to this experience or was I uniquely sheltered from this information growing up?

I have fallen in love with Ethiopian food and want to recreate some dishes that I've had at restaurants in the past. Are there any good spice shops or grocery stores in NYC that sell the specific ingredients typically used?

I am trying out new recipes, specifically middle eastern and south asian, and I find that many have the important step of placing smoking coal into the cooking dish. Because I live in an apartment where windows don't open, is there any alternatives to this that may bring a similar, smokey tasting result?
