Looking to try a MM cart as I want to be able to replace the stylus, save some money (was looking at the MP-500, but prices have gone up recently). I have a contact line AT MC cart that is nice but it has some mileage on it, was looking first at Soundsmith for the moving Iron (similar to the MP, but no user removable styluse, and the price...). I haven't heard a MM in quite some time, was looking at this model:

Some claim the Shibata have a warmer mid, which would be nice, but has anybody used any carts with both stylus types, regardless of make, and formulated an opinion?

This would be mounted on a VPI table.

Budget under a grand, or maybe just above...
