Is a 30°C delta concerning?

Been doing some testing recently while paying closer attention to hotspot and VRAM temperatures of my GPU, and while my temperatures are well within spec, the discrepancy between my core temp and my hotspot temp seems a bit wide.

I have a Gigabyte GAMING OC 9070 XT. In my most graphically intensive games, the core stays at about 53-55°C tops, but my hotspot temperature will hover around 82-85°C. VRAM temps are usually slightly lower than the hotspot. Again, I know these temps by themselves are fine, but I had read that an ideal delta for these cards is usually in the range of 15-20°C. While mine sometimes approaches 30°C. Should I be worried about this?

Could this also be the result of pumpout of the thermal gel? My GPU is vertically mounted in a HYTE Y70 case, and I’ve had it for about 1 year. Should I consider repasting?

Preparing for a BIOS update. I have one question.

I’m about to update my BIOS tonight for my X870 GAMING X WiFi7 board (F4 -> F12) using Q-FLASH inside the BIOS, and I want to make sure I’m as fully prepared as can be in the unlikely event something goes catastrophically wrong and I need to recover from a failed update. Since my board supports Q-FLASH Plus, I know this is my main way to recover from a failure. So I want to ask and make sure I have the proper USB drive for Q-FLASH Plus compatibility.

To use Q-FLASH Plus, my USB drive needs to be:

• FAT32 formatted
• GPT formatted
• USB 2.0

Is this correct? Is this all that’s required to use Q-FLASH Plus if I need it?

Is it possible to export BIOS settings to a USB drive?

I'm on a Gigabyte X870 GAMING WiFi7. I'm on BIOS version F4, and I want to update to version F12. But before doing so, on the off chance something goes horribly wrong and I need to rollback using Q-FLASH, I thought it'd be really convenient to be able to import previous settings instead of trying to remember what settings I've gradually changed over the past year. Is it possible to export current BIOS settings to a USB drive?

After a year I realized I made a dumb mistake

In April 2025, I built my new PC using the HYTE Y70 Touch Infinite. Amazing case. But I came to an unfortunate realization just last weekend that I made a mistake during installation of a few of my case fans. Those 3 fans that you can install on the bottom? I had intended to have them oriented as intake to blow air up into the GPU. But I realized just a few days ago that I actually have them oriented as EXHAUST. I hate myself for this.

Is having the bottom fans oriented like this a huge deal? Am I making temps much higher than they normally would be? My GPU and CPU aren’t overheating by any means, but would it still make a noticeable difference in temperature if I flipped the fans around and had them as intake? It’d be a hassle to flip them around, but if having them as exhaust is bad, I’ll do it.

Should I update my BIOS?

This is the age-old question I keep asking myself. Every time I try to find an answer to this question, I always see a 50/50 response. I’ve seen a lot of people over the years say if your PC is functioning fine, it’s not worth it to update since it’s generally risky to update the BIOS. But I’ve also seen people talk about how modern hardware makes it safer than ever to update. On my old PC (built in 2013), I updated my BIOS once on my old Z87 ASUS board. It immediately introduced instability, so I rolled back and never did it again. Because of that, and other stories I’ve heard, updating the BIOS is terrifying to me.

I built a new PC in April 2025. My board is a Gigabyte X870 GAMING x WiFi7. It shipped with BIOS version F2. I’ve updated it one time several months ago to version F4. It went fine, but now my board is all the way up to version F12 (F13a beta), and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to update since it’s such a huge leap in BIOS versions. My board also has Q-FLASH, so I’m told that makes it easy to recover from failures if something actually did go wrong. Should I update it even though my PC seems to be working fine?

Hades 2 poor performance

I tried Hades 2 today, but for some reason the game is performing pretty badly and I'm not sure why. I'm getting low FPS, stutters, and input delay, and sometimes the game outright crashes a few seconds after selecting the new save slot. I have the latest version of Ryubing, latest firmware, and latest game update. I've tried changing multiple settings, but I'm stumped. Anyone have an idea?

System:

CPU: Ryzen 9 9900X

GPU: Radeon 9070XT

RAM: 32GB

OS: Windows 11 Pro

Hades 2 only displaying HUD, gameplay is just a black screen

Was trying to start Hades 2 today, but when beginning the game, the game is just a black screen, however the HUD still displays just fine. The main menu and audio is fine as well. Has anyone else had this issue and know if it's fixable? I have the latest game update, latest firmware update, and I'm running Eden version v0.2.0 | Clang 22.1.4.

System:

CPU: Ryzen 9 9900X

GPU: Radeon 9070XT

RAM: 32GB

OS: Windows 11 Pro

I tried Ryujinx as well, and while the gameplay would display normal, performance was awful. Low FPS, stutters, and input delay.

About a year ago (on Yuzu) I tried an ultrawide mod for TotK that basically just ran a script and should have made the game run in ultrawide on the next startup. Unfortunately it completely broke the game to the point it was essentially unplayable and I had to start a new save from the beginning. It was the weirdest break I've ever seen in a game because all it did was lock Link in a dark room that I couldn't escape from.

Since then, I think I've learned that the mod possibly didn't work because I was using an older update of the game (v1.2.0). I see the latest update available is v1.4.3, but the reason I'm using v1.2.0 is because basically my entire mods list is only compatible with that update.

So for anyone who's gotten ultrawide to work on TotK, what do I require to make it work on Eden, and do I need to replace all of my current mods to be compatible with a different update version? Screenshot of current mods attached.
