It's possible to ruin everything you've achieved in no time
In the first picture, I'm 74 kg, waist at 95 cm (I'm 164 cm tall). In 3 and a half months, I lost 17 kg - waist dropped to 70 cm. I've been fat my whole life. Always dreamed of seeing my abs, and finally, at 31, I got what I wanted - only to ruin it in the next 2 months. Now I'm 76 kg. The trigger was alcohol. I drank a couple of days in a row, which turned into weeks of a bender, and with the booze came the junk food, obviously. I was eating 3000-4000 cal a day, and twice I hit around 5500 cal - and that was while I was still tracking my macros. Eventually I stopped tracking altogether. I can't drink - I personally can't drink in moderation, so I decided to quit completely, at least for a year. Now I know. Achieving something is one thing - keeping it is a whole different beast.
Edit: Some people in the comments are accusing me of using steroids, which surprises me - considering I'm only 57 kg in the middle picture. Honestly, it kind of appeals to me, because I never thought my form was impressive. I never took steroids. I lifted consistently from 2018 to 2022, then stopped. I was dirty bulking back then, but definitely gained a solid amount of muscle. This year I got back into the gym after all these years, and this time I took my diet seriously - around 1100-1300 calories with 130-150 g of protein. Thanks to muscle memory and the fact that I'm short, I looked like this after a 3.5-month cut being only 57 kg. The only thing I took was creatine.
