Thorny devils out for an explore
I love these goofy spikelets so much!

I love these goofy spikelets so much!
I've had these cocoons for ages and I'd all but given up hope, but here he is!!!
These are native to Madagascar but captive bred.
Ceranchia apollina
I raised these Privet Hawk Moths from eggs and just released some of the newly-hatched adults this evening.
They are the UK's largest native species of moth and I love them so much!
I filmed some of them flying off so I can post it if there's any interest.
I'm so proud of them!
P.prasina (same family as Sun beetles). This one hatched for me earlier and they're so small and shy!
This one hatched for me earlier, the first adult of this species for me! Smaller than P.marginata! So cute!
A new Pachnoda beetle species hatched for me today (P.prasina) and they're so tiny, so shy, so GREEN ๐
He's already a dramatic little menace and I love him for that
Less than 2 hours old!
From top left to bottom right: Beef (M), Cutlet (M), Green bean (M), Velvet (F) and Spinch (F).
I've had them all since they were grubs and I'm so proud of them! There are plenty more cocoons to hatch but I'm loving watching these guys and gals interact and explore their home. I have no idea what colours are yet to come and each of these have been a lovely surprise to watch emerge!
MTU (Mecynorrhina torquata ugandensis) and MTI (Mecynorrhina torquata immacularis) 'Giant flower' beetles.
Cutlet the male MTU beetle, the smallest adult that has hatched so far but he has already make up for it with mischief ๐
This is Cutlet, a male MTU beetle :)
The 2nd of my MTI (Mecynorrhina torquata immacularis) cocoons hatched today and out came Spinach!
Green bean was my first so it's lovely to have a male and a female!
I've raised them since they were tiny grubs and there are loads more cocoons to hatch!
My 2nd MTI beetle emerged today (Green bean was the first) and she's a girl! I've decided to call her Spinach ๐๐ชฒ
She's so speedy it was hard to get any pics of her so she's climbing about in her enclosure now.
