Title: ISO Pink Stick Insects – Marmessoidea rosea & Sipyloidea sipylus 🩷
Hi everyone!
I’m currently searching for two species of beautiful pink stick insects and was hoping someone here could help or point me toward a breeder.
I’m looking for:
🩷 Marmessoidea rosea (Pink Stick Insect)
🩷 Sipyloidea sipylus (Pink-wing Stick Insect)
I’m interested in purchasing them at any stage of life, but I would especially love:
🥚 Eggs
🌿 Nymphs/Juveniles
🪴 Adults
I’m located in New York, USA and am happy to pay for shipping.
I’ve completely fallen in love with these gorgeous phasmids and would love the opportunity to raise them. If you breed either species, know someone who does, have eggs available, or know of an upcoming clutch, I’d be incredibly grateful for any leads.
Thank you so much! 🩷

Is he gonna be okay?

Couple days ago I found this little guy who hatched with only 2 back legs. Now I am not sure if he hatched like this or if he lost them somehow during hatching. For now I am keeping him in this cup so he won't get hurt in the enclosure (when I found him he was constantly flipping on his back)

Any tips? Or should I just monitor if his limbs slowly grow back during molting?

Simba

Can you guess why I named him Simba? (Sorry for bad quality it's night time, he's tiny and the light doesn't help)

Do i need to remove some males?

I have 2 females and 5 males which I'm guessing is a bad ratio. My adult female is currently swarmed by them every night and it's also led to these two males mating with eachother. Also yes the glass needs cleaning.

What is it doing?

Is the mouth thingy a happy thing? Like how it shakes and stuff. Is it happy or just cleaning it's mouth? This is a new species I was gifted (I was not happy about that but what can I do at this point) so I am not sure how these little guys behave. It might be Phaenopharos khaoyaiensis from what I was told?

Anyways it's hunger cannot be satiated and this dubious creature will never cease to amaze me. These are much more energetic then the little horned ones I had.

Is this okay for a baby?

Recently I found this baby in my stick insect enclosure. I decided to take her out as I was worried she'd get crushed or drown in a drop of water etc.

Is this tub big enough for her? It has a mesh top and ventilation holes. I'd only keep her in here for 1 or 2 molts.

Btw, her name is Twiglet.

Urgent please!

My friends stick insect looks like it's had a bad molt and there's this bubble coming out of it - she's still alive and reactive but what is this? Is there any hope for it surviving?

did she die?

hello! i am afraid i already know the answer, but i want to make sure. she has been an adult for atleast 8 months, and a few days ago she didn’t have much strength and was laying on the ground of the terrarium. when i tried to hand feed her she wouldn’t eat. since today, she’s not responsive anymore and i see hardened liquid around her mouth. i’m a first time insect owner, so i dont know how to tell if she has already passed or if i could do anything to help. she is not feeling stiff, as in her belly is still very soft.

Grazie

Stick bugs that need ID’ing

I’ve got a few stick bugs for free off marketplace, but the sellers didn’t know what species they are. Can someone ID them for so I can look up how to care for them. I’m having a hard time figuring out the best way to care for them..

Sadly two of them have passed away and now I’m trying desperately how to keep the last one healthy p.p

They are about an index finger long, but they are still relatively young. (3 months)

If someone knows what species they are and/or how to take care of the lil baby I would love to know! :D

(I’m from the Netherlands, but I bet the sticks aren’t..)

Help! Possible poisoning?

I gave my sunny stick insects (all raised from eggs) raspberry leaves for the first time, collected on Saturday. Now Tuesday, and I spotted one of them doing this on the floor leaf.

As I was recording, I realised she was struggling - it looked like she was in pain and curling as a response. I immediately took the leaves out, as well as the insects, and washed the enclosure. I grabbed their favourite bramble as I know they've had that before and have been fine, washed it, and put them back in.

The insect in the video was moving around a lot and has not moved like this since - she was grabbing fine, climbing fine. Same with most of them. One of them was a little weaker and fell off the stick onto her back, but grabbed back onto the stick I gave her and moves around when nudged (though I don't want to stress her anymore).

I've turned off the lights in my room, they have plenty of moisture and fresh bramble. I'm worried I might lose a few as I've never seen this response before. Does anyone have any insight as to what this is? Will they be ok?

She’s standing on business (giving me a stern talking to after transporting her to a new enclosure lol)
