Books on judgement and objectivity

hi i wanted to ask you guys if you got any recomendations about books going in depth on judgement, bias etc. i am asking because i noticed that sometimes i find myself jump into conclusions, assumptions and overall not judge things fairly and objectively, and also not being critical and taking things at face value sometimes. I dont want any books like 10 ways to judge better if you know what i mean.

thanks in advance and have a good day :D

Does your ADHD ever make you feel stupid

Hi lately i have Been struggling with constantly asking myself i am stupid or not. rethinking past mistakes overthinking it, having moments when i just think for example: did i critisise that correctly? I think i did, would i think i did if i was Smart? Was that stupid? Am i stupid? Would i be asking if i were stupid if i were stupid And so on and so forth. I read books and i wonder if i am reading to compensate for my supposed stupidy. Also through out my whole life in my day to day life i notice things i say and do that i recognize as stupid for example judging something to quickly, not thinking about it enough, analyzing peoples expresions and replies to determine if a thing i said was "inteligent" (theres alot of things like it, even Simpler ones i cant Remember for some reason but if i remember some ill put it in the edit)i am putting it in air quotes as i am not certain what that Word means. I mean i ve read alot of explenations of what does it mean i asked some people in my life what does it mean to them. I checked Reddit, YouTube, real life etc etc and almost everyone Has conflicting ideas which make me only more confused. Sometimes their answers lift me up sometimes make me feel worse but none of them realy stand out to me as the "correct" one you know

I wanted to Ask about your opinions on the subject, your own life expiriances and sorry for spelling mistakes and have a good day :D

(theres definietly more i want to say on the subject but i cant think of anything more at the moment)

how to read a book

hi recently i have started reading "how to read a book" and wanted to ask about an opinions stated in the book.

in the chapter called "Practical vs. Theoritical Books" theres a paragraph that goes:

We have noted that although economics is primarily and usually a practical matter, there are nevertheless books on economics that are purely theoretical. Similarly, although understanding is primarly and usually a theoretical matter, there are books (most of them are terrible) that purport to teach you "how to think."

And the authors have not explained why would those books be terrible whatsoever so i wanted to ask for your thoughts and opinions on the topic

Thanks for the answers in advance and have a good day :D

I am not feeling tired and that's wierd

Hi everyone ive noticed two things about my sleep during the summer break

  1. There have Been days (like today) when i dont feel sleepy at all and dont sleep that night at all like not even a little and then just go about my day and go to sleep as usual and wake up as always

  2. My sleep cycle shifts from sleeping at night to sleeping during the day, basicaly i fall asleep like half a hour later and wake up 10 hours later

You might think screen time but its 5 in the morning and i have an hour of screen time done right now because i cant sleep. I dont have much anxiety or stress. Last summer i asked a neurologist about it and she said something among the lines of you cant get back the sleep you didnt use or something like that and that its harmfull for my brain which i dont understand as i feel mostly fine.

Thanks for answers and sorry if i spelled something wrong have a nice day or good night :D

I dont get it

Hi i am currently reading "about men who rape the psychology of the offender" and i have noticed a contradiction

In one of the earlier chapters it is said that mamy people consider castration as a good way to stop rapists from comiting their crimes again. However its not a good solution because even if it always caused impotency (which it doesnt) than it still wouldnt solve the Basic conflicts and psychological problems that were the causes of the crime and the Anger and agresion would still look for an outlet if not in rape than in beatings, murder or suicide

But a about two hundred pages later in the chapter titled "therapeutic methods" it lists chemical castration as a good solution because it lowers the testosterone therefore reducing sexual urges and impulses

And my question is why is it listed as a bad solution in one chapter and a good one in the other and if the whole book was about how rape isnt about sexual urges than why would reducing sexual urges be a good solution

Thanks for the answers in advance and sorry for any spelling mistakes :)

Edit: now i am kinda unsure if this is a right subredit to post this on but i dont see any others that would be
