What is the best way to learn AWS for DevOps?

Tying to find a course to improve my AWS knowledge. Im considering Boot dev, KodeKloud, Pluralsight, and AWS Skill Builder. What would be enough to develop a solid foundation for someone with a devops background?

Expats abroad, what financial mistake do you wish you avoided early on?

Hey everyone

I have been researching the financial side of moving abroad long term and realizing there are a lot of things people don’t really think about until after relocating. Stuff like banking taxes currency exchange savings insurance emergency funds and managing finances between multiple countries all seem more complicated than I expected.

For those already living abroad what is one financial mistake or oversight you wish you had avoided early on? Would love to learn from people who’ve already gone through it.

Having one household person is actually kinda dangerous.

My mom handled everything growing up. Bills. Appointments. Passwords. School stuff. Emergency contacts. All of it.

Then she ended up in the hospital unexpectedly for a week when I was in high school and the whole house completely stopped functioning. My dad didn't even know which bills were autopay and which weren't.

Fast forward to now and I realized me and my wife accidentally built the same setup. She knows certain things. I know other things. If one of us disappeared tomorrow the other would be screwed for months.

Feel like nobody talks enough about household continuity until something bad happens.

Curious how couples split this stuff up without making it feel like a corporate meeting every Sunday lol.

Can someone tell me why modern neon signs are so expensive?

Ugh I’ve been looking into getting a custom neon sign for my bedroom and legit almost choked at the prices. Like I get that they’re artsy and all but I just want a simple phrase in neon vibes lol. Been scrolling pinterest for inspo and it feels impossible to find something that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Anyone here managed to get a custom neon sign on a budget without it looking cheap or flimsy?

I Thought Sleep Paralysis Was Normal…. Until It Was not.

I used to think sleep paralysis was just your body waking up before your mind until it happened to me in a way I can’t explain away so easily. I woke up unable to move, which I expected but then I heard my name being whispered from the corner of my room, except my room was empty. I tried to focus on breathing telling myself it’s normal.… until I felt something sit on the edge of my bedblike the mattress actually dipped. The worst part wasn’t fear it was how familiar it felt like whatever was there had been there before. When it finally ended I checked every corner of my room lights on, heart racing and nothing was there. But even now I still sometimes wake up afraid to look toward that corner first.

Why does my white ink look yellowish on certain fabrics even though it looks white on the film?

This one has been driving me crazy because the transfer itself looks totally fine before pressing the white areas are bright white on the film. But on certain shirt colors, especially lighter grays and some off-whites, the white ink in the design takes on a yellowish or warm cast that looks really bad. It's not happening on every garment, which makes it even harder to pin down.

Has anyone tried printing DTF transfers on a roll and cutting them with a vinyl cutter instead of scissors?

I've been thinking about upgrading my gang sheet cutting process because hand-cutting with scissors is eating up time on high-volume days and I'm getting inconsistent edges on detailed designs. I know some setups use automated cutters but I'm curious if a standard vinyl cutter can handle DTF film without destroying it or causing edge lifting. Would love to hear from anyone who's actually tried this rather than just theoretical answers.

My accountant roasted me for emailing 40 MB PDFs to clients

Apparently I’ve been sending giant PDF files to clients for years and never thought twice about it until my accountant called me out this week 😂 Started compressing everything before sending and now clients actually reply faster because attachments stop bouncing around inboxes.

Has anyone found an ecommerce ERP with accounting that handles Shopify

Has anyone found an ecommerce ERP with accounting that actually handles Shopify well? I’m trying to figure out what people use once basic order syncing is not enough anymore. Mostly looking for something that can handle Shopify payouts, fees, refunds, inventory costing, COGS and reporting without needing a bunch of spreadsheets every month. Is there anything that does this cleanly or does everyone still end up using an ERP plus separate accounting plus manual reconciliation?

I said No to a girl for the first time and honestly it felt good.

I matched with this really cute girl on Bumble and we vibed pretty well, so after a few days we moved to Instagram. She was busy most of the time so we couldn’t really meet up which was fine at first.

But after a couple weeks I noticed almost every conversation was just her venting about work stressful job rude boss, too much responsibility all that stuff. I’d sit there listening comforting her trying to be supportive… and then once she was done she’d disappear without even replying to my last messages. A few days later she’d come back with a casual hey what’s up and the cycle would repeat.

Eventually it started feeling one-sided and draining. So when she popped up again after ignoring my messages for days I finally told her that I understood she was busy but constantly disappearing without even acknowledging my messages didn’t sit right with me. I said I didn’t want to continue talking anymore.

She replied with the usual I am busy with work stuff and said it was fine if I didn’t want to talk.

Part of me felt bad afterwards, but I am someone who’s been trying to build self worth and healthier boundaries little by little. Saying no to something that didn’t feel right for me was honestly a big step. Maybe it came off harsh, but for once I chose my own peace first.

Fundraising merchandise and nonprofit custom apparel represent a steady stream of community-driven orders that can be a great fit for DTF shops, especially given how well the method handles short runs and varied designs without setup fees eating into tight budgets. Churches, schools, sports teams, and charities all run regular apparel campaigns and they tend to become repeat accounts if you treat them well the first time. There are some specific considerations around pricing, minimums, and turnaround that come up more often in this segment than in commercial work.

Finish is one of those design details that a lot of customers don't think to ask about but absolutely notice when they hold the finished product in their hands and the choice between matte and glossy DTF can significantly affect how professional and intentional a print looks on a particular garment. Different film types produce different surface finishes, and some suppliers offer specialty options that fall between the two extremes. Knowing when each finish is the right call is part of developing your eye as a decorator.
