Volvo S80 Geartronic: clunk when shifting from N to D, only when motor is warm

Hi everyone,

I drive a Volvo S80 with a Geartronic automatic transmission. When shifting from Neutral to Drive, I feel a noticeable clunk. This only happens when the engine is warm—there’s no clunk when it’s cold.

Any Volvo or automatic transmission experts here who recognise this issue? What’s the most likely cause, and what would you recommend checking first?
