My largest piece so far! 24” x 36”! I know it’s not that big for some of you, but for me a huge achievement. Based on a quick sketch I did for a friend as a joke, and well, gestures at world.
Would love to hear what you think. A little different style than I usually do, less blended.
I’ve found I have a passion for painting and have done a few commission pieces for acquaintances. Would love to turn this into a side hustle then career, but every recommendation I’ve found basically sounds like I have to almost be an influencer to reach new potential clients. Has anyone navigated this world without having to do that? The idea of constantly recording myself and my process feels overwhelming.
My niece likes pastel colors and cheetah print. I wanted to make something encouraging her to remember her inner strength, so thought a cheetah admiring / wishing it was her would be a cute play on it. Also had fun with a little metallic paint.
What do you all think?
My take on a final tribute painting for Zendaya’s character Rue in “Euphoria.” I imagined a tired Rue, feeling alone, scared and vulnerable. Finally locking eyes with someone she loves deeply and deciding to get out of the water.
Would love to hear thoughts on this piece. How does it make you feel? It’s one of my favorites I’ve done so far, but I’m always looking to grow!
P.S. bonus zombie “Zendaya Hat Theory” version I sent as a meme to a friend for all of you who are chronically online ha.
I know this has been done before, but couldn’t help but put my spin on a fun portrait of Rue to commemorate the end. I envisioned this as Rue finding euphoria after suffering, feeling cold, alone, and vulnerable for so long. Then finally locking eyes with Jules again. Bonus intermediate “Zendaya Hat Theory” version for fun.
Would love to hear what people think of it!
If you’ve seen my posts before you may know that I taught myself to paint as a way to connect with my mother as she losing parts of herself to dementia. My mom was an artist, a single mother, and an incredible role model. So I created an image with her styled like she was in her high school grad photo as a revolutionary. Fun fact, we had a near identical version of this chair in our house while I was growing up. Unfortunately young me didn’t fully appreciate it and may have been fascinated by the fact that it can be unwoven if picked with 😩.
Anyway, let me know what you all think. Smaller portraits are not my strongest skill so I’m going to keep trying to improve.
My friend asked for a painting to honor his family members serving in the Air Force. What do you all think? I’m working on final tweaks.
