I'm in Iceland right now and keep seeing this lamb stew everywhere.
This particular variation was slightly more modern with the addition of red peppers and the bread bowl. I recommend trying it if you're ever in Iceland. It's delicious.
Camp/Spread collar shirts?
Men's or unisex - I'm not picky! Google turned up 'Roots' and not much else. The subreddit search turned up zero results.
There's a bunch of free patches saying 'Okanagan Street Meet' at the Parkinson Rec bus stop if anyone wants them
I like this place even more now that I know they've been here since 1998
ISO Novelty shirts for Gay Pride
My local Pride Fest is coming up, I'm looking for something thematic to wear to the parade and afterparty I'm going to. I'd like to buy something from a Canadian supplier, my Google search only turned up 1 company though. Black Maple Trading. I was hoping you guys might know of others that wouldn't appear on my cursory Google search.
I have a couple old shirts I inherited that need mending. I don't know where to even start with regards to finding place willing to work on old fabric though, each garment is between 30-40 years old. I need a tailoring business with the tools and expertise to work with something like this.
One of them is a simple fix of a broken stitch a couple centimetres in length and buttons that need to be replaced. I could take care of that myself, but thought I'd just shell out to have both shirts repaired at the same time.
The other is a little trickier, the fabric has been completely ripped through in one panel, at least 5-6cms across. It needs to be patched or darned. I don't trust myself to do it by hand because the wool flannel is so old. I don't have the right kind of tools here. I'm not even %100 sure of the fibre content because the tags are missing. It feels like wool but it may be partially acrylic, I'm not a professional tailor.
I'd like to start calling around but don't want to waste time reaching out to every tailoring business in the city when I know half of them wouldn't be willing to take on something like this. Can anyone point me to someone that specializes in vintage garments? One shirt is corduroy and the other is a wool-flannel that's potentially a poly-blend. Both are from the mid 80's to early 90's.
