Sulfur smell coming from shower / bathroom sink - anode rod already replaced

Hi everyone! I moved into a new apartment a year ago. A couple months after moving in, I noticed a sulfur odor coming from the water in my shower and bathroom sink. It would usually come from the hot water; the cold water would only smell bad if I ran the hot water first. The sulfur smell was intermittent; sometimes it would be really bad right when I turned the water on, and other times it would take ~10-20 minutes to kick in. It would sometimes get worse over time if the water continued running and sometimes go away. I got maintenance to come and they flushed out my water heater with pressurized air (the water was yellow when it came out the first time time), but the smell didn’t go away so I had them order an anode rod and replace it as well. The smell went away for a bit, but I think it’s back now. I’ve cleaned the shower head (and it was recently replaced) and I keep my apartment very clean. Does anyone know what I can do? Thank you!

When did your bad breath go away?

Hi everyone! I got my tonsillectomy on the 28th purely for tonsil stones. I had bad breath for a long time from the stones and for a few days after the surgery (not tonsil stone breath though; I think it was from the cauterization). I am so paranoid of having bad breath now that I feel like I have it again! Even though I’m 90% sure I don’t (and it’s definitely not as bad).

If you guys had bad breath after surgery, when did it go away 100%? I’ve heard some people say a few days and other people say up to a month

Prednisone?

Hi everyone! 22F Day 5 post-op here! My pain increased a LOT this morning and a family friend recommended asking the doctor for steroids, so I did and my surgeon got me a prescription for prednisone. Has anyone here taken it for recovery in the past? Was it helpful at all? I’m really hoping it helps smooth things over!

Tonsillectomy tomorrow! I’m freaking out

Hi friends! I am officially getting my tonsillectomy tomorrow morning (pretty much only for tonsil stones) and I am super nervous. I really don’t think I’ll have any complications or anything and I know all the steps and postop instructions - I’m just scared because of the recovery and the pain. I really really hope it goes smoothly and my tonsil stones go away! I will try to update this thread as I recover if I’m not doing too poorly. If anyone has good experiences with recovery or getting rid of tonsil stones please let me know so I feel better lol

Hi everyone! I’m 22F and getting my tonsils out on 5/28. I’m really worried because I’m just getting mine out for tonsil stones and I’m so scared that the bad breath won’t go away. I’ve had noticeable bad breath for about 1.5 years now and it’s only gotten worse, and I realized it was because of tonsil stones about six months ago after I found one for the first time. My dental hygiene has always been really good, but it’s gotten to the point where I honestly can’t remember what it was like having normal breath because I’ve had halitosis for so long and it’s totally ruined my life - I’m always worried in social situations and I literally find myself getting jealous of actors and my irl friends because of how close together they can stand when they talk lol. Can anyone please tell me they’ve had a similar experience and it’s actually fixed the breath?? Some people say they’ve still had tonsil stones after getting them removed (nightmare material) and others say the breath lingered way after they were done recovering, and I’m terrified that I won’t ever feel normal with my breath ever again. I really just want this to be over and to be able to talk and breathe without feeling so insecure
