Did eyeshadow really use to work without primer?

I have a question for people over 40 (if I did the math right)

Sometimes I see complains online that eyeshadow primers are a cash grab and eyeshadows used to be good enough to work without applying one, and I also sometimes see reviews for modern eyeshadows done without using a primer because basically the same reasoning. A good eyeshadow doesn't need primer.

Was this actually true?

I'm in my late 20s and I can't imagine wearing eye makeup on bare eyelids if I want it to stay for more than an hour.

I had a makeup dream today

There was a cereal company that released a new line of their cereals with a surprise blush inside. It was glued to the top part of the box from the inside, and it was a powder one in a small round pan. And there was one trendy shade (something like very cool brownish pink, almost mauve, and very muted also. I'm not good at describing colours, sorry) everyone wanted to have.

Do you ever have makeup dreams?

KLAVUU nourishing care lip sleeping pack coconut

I've bought it around Christmas, so it last me almost 8 months, but unfortunately it has changed smell from neutral to unpleasant, so I declare it expired. I was so close! I won't repurchase it, cause I used it almost every night, sometimes at daytime if I stayed at home and also as cuticle care but I still wasn't able to finish it before it went bad.

What are those upwards brim hats called?

It looks like they were popular during early 1920s. All pictures are said to be from 1922 exactly.

I'm asking about a hat type like in the first picture, but there're also different hats shown all with their brim folded up, so I wonder if it also was a trendy way of wearing any hat?

Dasique Pure Water Lip Gloss - the stopper removed!

I really liked this gloss. Despite the name, it's not watery and more gel-ish. It smells peachy I really enjoyed the smell, and it noticeably moisturised my lips when applied. And it looks pretty, too!

Unfortunately, this bottle leaks significantly. I had to carry it wrapped in napkin. I have another bottle that don't but I don't know if it's luck (I've read reviews that said their bottles leak too) or just the fact I use the other shade less often. So, probably WNR, but won't mind as a gift.

How to make food taste fine after being in a freezer?

I really want to try making batches of food whenever I can and freeze them, but I tried this before and I really didn't like how the meals changed the texture. It wasn't enjoyable at all. But I see videos on YouTube about meal prepping for the freezer all the time.

So, is there some kind of technique? Do I need to cook differently, or is there correct way of defrosting?

What read/watch similar to Southern Reach

Something that's focused more on "unnatural nature" rather than "alien area".

For me, Evangelion has similar vibes with angels and evas both being lifeforms without clear explanation.

some tubing mascaras are more waterproof than waterproof ones

They all have acrylates copolymer that creates water resistant film (it's also used in waterproof eyebrow gels) and if it's on the second place in the list of ingredients, the mascara isn't going anywhere.

The further it's from the second place, the closer mascara will be to non waterproof ones.

I prefer to remove mine with bi-phase eye makeup remover, but hot(!) water works too. If I use water, I wet my fingers, damp eyelashes (I kinda pinch them from back and front), and pull with light rubbing motion. Wipe fingers off with a tissue, repeat until no mascara left.

Micellar water or hydrophilic oil won't work, cold or tepid water also won't work

Pyunkang Yul Calming moisture repair balm full pan

I have combination skin (mostly oil to normal with occasional dry patches) which is prone to sweating. This cream has a thicker texture, slightly oily and is unscented. It spreads amazingly and I haven't experienced sweating most of the times unless I was a bit to generous. I liked it the most once a day in my pm routine (I don't usually use moisturiser in the morning because I use sun protection and too much products make my face, guess what, you're right, sweat, and it's very uncomfortable), it gave me enough moisturising but when used regularly twice a day it felt too nourishing and heavy for my skin. I have other moisturisers to go through but when I finish them but I'll probably repurchase this one if on sale
