After being on the “list” for a 41mm Oyster Perpetual for about a month and a half, today I went back in again just to touch base with my representative and to make an adjustment to my desired colors. I removed the black dial but mentioned to him that if I were to have a black dial I would want it to be an Air King. Turned out they had just received one a couple days ago and I walked out with it. My first Rolex! I know some crap on the Air King but I dig it, the Submariner is very popular but I don’t like the diver watch look. That’s why they make different models, there’s something for everyone. Very happy to have scored today, I am not very patient, not sure how long I would have waited before getting moved onto Omega or Grand Seiko, now I can stop fretting about it.

For context, I had not worn a watch on my wrist in probably over 25 years. My Mom got me this $10.99 Snoopy digital watch for Christmas ( I am a big Snoopy fan), that kicked off a love of watches and I have bought nine since the first of the year. My Mom had a massive brain bleed and passed away Last Tuesday at the age of 81. I am looking for a pink dial to wear in her honor, I saw this upcoming CW to be available in July, CW also offers engraving so that would be perfect. I wish it was bigger than a 36 mm but it will be fine. If anyone owns or has owned a CW please share your thoughts on the brand, good or bad. Thanks!

Why does the Air King not get much love? I know it has its fans but it seems to have many more detractors than those who love it.

Put aside the Corvette emblem please, just consider the watches. A brand new Breitling for $4250 plus 8.25% tax or a very slightly used (warranty card dated 5/7/2026) Grand Seiko for $4700 with no tax, the GS also ships with a leather strap. I like them both personally but what would you choose and why if you care to elaborate. Thanks!
