To be honest, I really don’t understand why, every time Taylor releases a new song that reaches 1 billion streams or hits No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, all I see are comments like, “She’s a fraud,” “Number ones are easy to get now,” “Her songs all sound the same,” and “The GP didn’t stream this” or “The GP didn’t make her number one, it was only the Swifties.” The same sh*t every single time.

But I don’t see the same energy when Drake releases a song that’s literally only popular in the US, when Ariana and Olivia (whom I love, by the way) use strategies to help their singles reach No. 1, or when Bruno keeps making songs that sound similar to his previous hits, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, by the way. I’m just genuinely confused about how people think when it comes to Taylor Swift.

If Taylor is considered “hitless,” then maybe all these other artists should be considered “hitless” too.

And again, taste is subjective. Listen to the artists you like. Hindi naman kayo pinipilit makinig kay Taylor at sa TLOAS. Or better yet, write your own music. We admit that this is not her best work compared to her first 11 albums, pero she still has it in her. Downgrade agad? Ang dali niyo siyang i-dismiss when she just wants to make a fun pop record, and for what? Para ibigay niyo ang credit sa isang lalaki (Joe)?

Anyway, TLOAS still has three number ones! A win is a win. Hate all you want.

Ironic that folklore and evermore are her universally loved albums, but they’re the ones with no entries in the Top 25. Other than these two albums, her Top 25 has hits from every era. And 1989 really is that girl!

I Knew It, I Knew You being at number 13 already with just 14 weeks of charting is surprising. I just don’t think it deserves to be in the Top 10 since all the songs there are smash hits.

Unpopular opinion: Did TLOAS age like a fine wine? Honestly… I think it did.

I feel like the initial reaction was way harsher than it needed to be, and with time, the album has started to grow on me more. It’s still not my favorite Taylor album and it’s still not on par with her masterpieces like Red, 1989, and folklore, but I think a lot of the criticism came from people expecting it to be something it was never really trying to be.

It’s fun, glittery, dramatic, and very unapologetically pop. And once you stop comparing it to her other albums, I think it works a lot better on its own.

Maybe it just needed some time to marinate. If I had to change anything, it’s the track list. The latter part of the track list suffered and heavily criticized because all the serious tracks (aside from Opalite) are stacked in the first half of the album (1 to 6). That’s why it is somehow unbalanced and very off-putting for some.

1. The Fate of Ophelia (retained; best choice for lead and track 1)
2. Honey (I said what I said. This is a bop!!! Became underrated due to its track list position!!!)
3. Opalite (retained; this feels right as the track 3)
4. **Wi$h Li$**t (still don’t get the hate for this song, haters taking the lyrics of this song too literally. Are you allergic to fun?)
5. Ruin The Friendship (come on, Taylor, this deserved to be the track 5 of this album)
6. Eldest Daughter (don’t hate the song, but still my least favorite. She should’ve kept the clean version. Love the bridge tho!)
7. Actually Romantic (retained; this is such a fun song, this was meant to be a sarcastic song, didn’t you haters get it?)
8. Wood (this sounds right back to back with Actually Romantic)
9. Elizabeth Taylor (the second half needed an explosive song and a banger like this!)
10. Cancelled! (retained; my 2nd least fave from this album)
11. Father Figure (DON’T GET ME WRONG, this is one of my top 3 tracks but I really think it really fits as one of the final tracks and the track leading to The Life of A Showgirl. Honey really didn’t make sense story-wise if you get what I mean. Its key change in the final chorus is also explosive.)

Narealize ko lang after Yeng’s concert, kaya pala medyo tumamlay ang career niya late 2010s, at kaya hindi din siya makapaniwala kung mapupuno niya ang Araneta (aside from her issue before), kasi puro Moira na ang ABS-CBN late 2010s to early 2020s.

Deserve ba ni Moira? Somehow, I guess. Pero the fact na hindi naman champion ng any singing competition si Moira while Yeng is literally a PDA winner and a good songwriter (ewan ko lang sa isa), pero naging favorite agad si Moira and nashift agad yung attention ng management sa kanya kahit wala naman siya gaanong star power really amazes me.

Medyo napabayaan nga ng ABS-CBN si Yeng. When Moira came, sa kanya na napunta yung mga theme songs, yung spotlight sa ASAP, yung pag judge ng singing competitions like Idol Philippines, at ito na nga, solo concerts sa Araneta, na nauna pa nagkaroon si Moira before Yeng. Na hindi naman din siya ganun kagalingan. Napaka pabebe pa most of the time. Take note, iba po ang introvert sa pabebe.

Ngayon marami na rin ang may ayaw sa kanya. Wala na rin hit songs si Moira after ng hiwalayan nila ng asawa niya.

Yeng, congrats sa success ng Byaheng Bente Day 1 and 2!! Sobrang deserve mo yan! Pinalaki kami ng mga kanta mo. Huwag ka na magtaka kung bakit alam namin mga lyrics ng mga kanta mo kasi laking MYX, songbooks, radyo, bluetooth and burned cd days, mp3, at karaoke kami!! 😆

Hindi ka man perfect and may mga pagkakamali ka man sa past, alam namin na isa kang mabuting tao. 🥹 Plus sobrang talented mo pa. One of the artists na halos lahat ng songs niya, siya yung nagsulat, at lahat ng hits masasabayan ng mga tao. May ilan lang na hindi alam yung titles pero pag pinlay mo, paniguradong alam yung lyrics. At higit sa lahat, ang laki ng contribution mo sa OPM!

Ito yung hinintay naming lahat, ang solo concert mo sa Araneta. Ngayon, natupad na. In God’s perfect timing talaga. Hi sa mga umattend din ng concert diyan!!
