Need some North Laos advice for 10 days.

How would you split it up for Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Nong Khiaw? I was thinking 5 days in LP (maybe 1 night at their Elephant Conservation Center, but if LP was more than enough for 5 days, I'd probably skip that for another trip), VV for 3 days, NK for 2. I'd probably do early morning or late evening transports to not really use day light to travel between places.

Any suggestions?

Help me choose my laptop!

I'm trying to choose between Yoga Book 9i (14", Gen 10) & Yoga Slim 7a (14", Gen 11). Price difference alone is a factor, but what are the redeeming points of the Yoga Book which makes the cost more worth it? Other than the dual screen.

Also, anyone used either and can share their thoughts on them? Pros and Cons.

How strict is IBM’s dress code in practice? For a non-client facing role.

I’ll be joining IBM Singapore soon and wanted to get a sense of what people actually wear to the office day-to-day.

I know the general guidance is business/smart casual, but how conservative is that in practice? I have quite a colourful/bohemian personal style: flowy midi dresses, patterned skirts and trousers, sleeveless tops with jackets or cardigans, wide-leg pants, colourful blouses, artisan jewellery, etc. I'm not saying I'm gonna dress like someone from Coachella. But at least in the style shown here:

Image taken from online

Everything would obviously be neat, presentable and appropriately covered for work. I’m not talking about beachwear, crop tops, flip-flops, ripped clothes, etc. I just really don’t want to replace my wardrobe with black trousers, white shirts and corporate blazers if that isn’t actually necessary. And I absolutely despise body hugging outfits like pencil skirts. It's very uncomfortable for me. In my previous companies, I could easily style a floral top with a beige/brown blazer and still make it look semi-formal.

For people who work at IBM: how much individuality do you see in the office? Are colours, prints, dresses, sleeveless tops, boho-style pieces, etc. generally fine as long as the overall outfit is polished? Really hoping to not start a funeral wardrobe with black outfits.

I’d especially love to hear from people in offices with a business-casual dress code rather than fully remote employees.

Thoughts on diving at Pulau Rawa, or even Aur/Dayang Islands?

I've only dived at Tioman Island before. While I intend to go back, I'm hoping to eplore a few 'lesser' dive spots as well. Any thoughts on Rawa, Aur and Dayang Islands in terms of visibility and expectations? I'm trying to find the right time between May to August next year.

Upgrading my camera and need advice

I currently use a GoPro and it sucks.

I am planning to get the OM system TG-7 + PT-059 Underwater Camera Housing, and would like your opinion if this is considered a good option for professional photography and videography. Could use some reviews on the OM system combo, especially with quality of the content created and useability of the features on the camera while in the water.

I have a mirrorless camera, but hoping to not go crazy with investing in the casing combo yet. I do intend to mount my DJI action camera on it (getting it as a gift), and get 2 lights as well.

I am open to other suggestions.

Oh, and I could use some lighting recommendations.

Need help with my Nusa itinerary.

I'm trying to focus on the Nusa Islands for this trip, and I have 10-11 days. I am planning at least 2 full days of diving (3 dives each day). At possibly 2 days to explore East Penida and West Penida. Maybe 1-2 more days to explore Lembongan and Ceningan. What else would you suggest I do there? Or should I come back to Bali for a few days, maybe Sideman or smth to wind down. Ideally, I do prefer to stay on the islands as I've been around Bali for a month before and have seen most places.

FYI, prefer exploring stuff than the 'relaxing-resort' vibe.

Need some advice with AI checkers.

I'm at the verge of giving up on writing at all. I wrote a story (based on my own experience). Even checked against AI checkers to see if it's passable (I know this whole AI check thing is a PITA). aidetector.com and quillbot.com (which I used before submitting) gave my story 5-15%. Fair enough.

Now I get results saying that it is way higher. Dunno what detector they are using on their side, but how do I change my writing style to bypass these?

Let me give you a preview of my text:

So the above is my own text, yet it is flagged as 100% AI on https://app.gptzero.me/ and another one.

Starting to question my own writing at this point.

Doubt about recruitment through an agency

Anyone hired into Lumen Technologies (or similar agencies), only to work with external vendors fully, and managing to convert fully to the vendor itself after a certain time period?

Asking cause my brother just got an offer from them, and passed through 2 rounds of technical with the client agency, and is told that the pay will come from Lumen. So no bonus and minimal benefits. He's feeling rather down about it, given that directly with the client agency would have waaaaay better benefits, but is still contemplating cause a job is a job in this market.

Assuming his last pay was 7k (inc. bonus). How can he negotiate to get paid properly, considering their terms? Cause pretty sure the agency gets a pay cut from what the client is offering.

Anyone miss the old school princess movies?

I’m 30F, but lately I’ve been noticing a drastic decrease in movies centered around princesses and fairy tale. Disney princess films seem to have slowed down (I kind of stopped keeping up after Raya and Moana 2, though maybe Encanto had some of that same emotional warmth), and even the old Barbie movies disappeared somewhere along the way. I think the last one I genuinely remember loving was Barbie and the Three Musketeers.

And not to mention, the visual style. It felt like an actual story book.

And honestly? I miss them.

Converting a 2 room flexi BTO to a studio at 35

Turning 35 soon and whatever house I get (BTO/resale, leaning towards BTO), I'm hoping to make it the house I stay in. I don't want to flip it or sell off (unless I'm dying). So how feasible is to to break the walls and turn a 2 room flexi (BTO standard for singles) to a studio? I'm not a conventional person at all, so no marriage or kids in the future. I don't need the extra rooms, and would much prefer a place where everything is one big space (except the toilet, obviously). Has this been done before?
