Any synthwave fans?

Hi all. I’ve been lurking for a while and figured I should finally say hello. I’ve always had a soft spot for late-night drives, city lights, mountain roads, tunnels, empty expressways and the strange calm that comes when most people have gone home.

A lot of what I’m into creatively comes from that world, however much of what we do as composers is with straight line speed in mind. So with the moderators approval, I'd love to know what any synthwave music fans in here would like to hear from an album that would be focused exclusively on country roads, climbs and descents. Mountain DNA so to speak.

Anyone else like driving after midnight?

Hi all. I’ve been lurking for a while and figured I should finally say hello. I’ve always had a soft spot for late-night drives, city lights, mountain roads, tunnels, expressways and the strange calm that comes when most people have gone home.

A lot of what I’m into creatively comes from that world, so this feels like the right place to spend some time. Looking forward to seeing what everyone drives, where you go, and which roads are worth knowing about after dark.

The Midnight Motor Club

Huge thanks to everyone here who gave me feedback the other day. The response from r/kereta genuinely helped shape this project, so I wanted to come back and share the finished album with you.

The Midnight Motor Club is out today.

It all started with the atmosphere of Kuala Lumpur: late-night roads, Bukit Bintang, expressways, city lights and that incredible after-dark energy.
Malaysia is a big part of the DNA of this record.

Thanks again to the Malaysian crew for helping me get it over the line.

Kuala Lumpur Dreams

I regularly visit Kuala Lumpur, and there’s something about the city that really stays with me, especially at night.

The lights, the humidity, the highways running through the city, the skyline and that late-night energy. KL just has a different atmosphere once the sun goes down.

As someone who loves driving, I’ve always thought there’s something special about experiencing the city from behind the wheel at night.

I’ve been making synthwave music inspired by that feeling. Night drives, city lights, modified cars, highways and that sense of freedom you get when you’re out driving late and the roads start to empty.

This is the first transmission from something I’ve been creating around that feeling.

Kuala Lumpur Dreams

I made this one with that KL-at-night feeling in mind, and wanted to share it here because I know there are plenty of people in this community who understand exactly what I mean.

It’s only a minute long. Turn it up, preferably with headphones, and let me know what you think.

Oscar Wilde Statue

I know that the Oscar Wilde statue is on Merrion Square Park...

... but am I mad in thinking that there was a similar statue in St. Stephen's Green park?
