Is Sales for me

I did read the pinned posts but I did want to get more insight on this

I am looking for a better paying job and my housemate is a tech at a dealership.

Given my ability to start unscripted conversations and talk to people he suggested sales

It is a franchise chevy/ CJDR dealership in our town (NorCal)

The pay plan is $16.90 an hour (State minimum) and the commission is 25% the description for the job says this:

The Representative Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges.  Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $16.90.  The position also pays potential commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of closed sales at the rate of 25% per sales achieved without any upper limit other than sales performance.  The position may also pay bonuses that range from $500.00 per month with an upper limit of $3,000.00 based on total units sales and CSI.

But my housemate was telling me about people being let go for being unable to sell 1 unit in 30 or 60 days

I am not sure what to do

Can we Join

Let me start by saying this post may sound naive but someone suggested government contracting to me so I don’t have much background on it so I’m asking here so I don’t waste my time

So a bunch of my buddies and I lost our tech jobs the past 1-2 years

We got our hands on a few skills in the meantime like certified state court interpreter, drone pilot license, and CDL class A to name a few off the top of my head (not everyone has all these, one person each)

I’m not sure if we can into government contracting using the skills we obtained or our tech background

Can we bid on different contracts leveraging each skill obtained and see what sticks or do we register for only one service based on the NAICS code of our LLC or do we bid as sole proprietors

P.S. one person of our group was terminated from federal employment and currently they are the plaintiff in the case, can they still sign up for contracting or would they have to clean their paperwork up first

Any advice is appreciated

Assessment for letter carrier

I went to a hiring event last Wednesday 6/10/26 for city carrier

I did the application with basic info and they said an online assessment will be sent out

For other roles I usually get the assessment within 24-48 hrs. So far nothing yet

I know govt is slow but anyone know when I can expect to receive it

Also this is a part time role that transitions to full time. Anyone know how many hours part time mail carriers usually get.

20 hrs schedule

Obviously it’s based on location and needs but does anyone know how they generally divide up a 20 hr/week schedule for associate or CPHT

Is it 4 hrs/day five days a week or more like 8/8/4 for 3 days a week

CPHT 20 hrs breakdown

Recently applied for CPHT it’s 20 hrs a week

Anyone know how they chop it up (8-8-4 etc)

Is it every other weekend on

Will the shifts rotate (opening, closing etc)

Also the pay range is $18.90-$28.90

That’s a wide gap not sure what determines the actual pay

Part Time Seasonal Specialist Role

So Apparently the role I applied for is part time seasonal as opposed to full time

I am not sure what season this is.

Are they hiring due to the upcoming launch in September or is it because this particular store is in a touristy part of NorCal, the entire region is busy in the summer.

What schedule can I expect as part time and how can I transition to full time or GB.
I have a background in tech, but that is not relevant right now

Also I have a degree information technology how can i transition to genius bar later on unfortunately there was no open roles at that store for genius bar
