Rationale — my short film created from the ground up here @ Bellingham — out now :)

hey guys! I posted on here the other day about a short film me and my friends made for the GFP @ the Pickford and the cat’s finally out of the bag! again, not blatantly PNW, but very much so in visual spirit :)

everything about this project down to the creative process felt very emotionally freeing (restrictions resulting from the GFP aside) and to be able to share this with the world as it is now feels great ! but this being made the way it was, it felt a lot more for us than for anyone else. still, it’d be great to show it off!

i’d love to hear general comments or even feedback for the future . and yes we had no budget aha so not too much on us!!! we can only do so much as teens 🥹 but for what it’s worth, I’m happy with what we have :)

and yes you can log it on Letterboxd ! please do !

edit: major creds to the fellow co-director who also rocked it! u/MeetingFlimsy1212

me + my friends are pushing out a short film to close out pride month :')

hi everybody ! I don't really use reddit so I'm trying my best but first and foremost happy pride month to everybody here!!! second of all I wanted to show off some stills from a short film that me and my friends made as a deconstruction of the queer teen experience: the disconnection between straight + gay culture and winks at the interrelated frustrations with heteronormativity.

our short isn't done !!! it's coming SO soon though and I thought you guys would like to hear a heads up about it :) all signs in my life right now are pointing towards me being a filmmaker in the future and I really hope I can tell important stories like these to a wide crowd one day :')

teen filmmaker putting out a short film shot + set in Bellingham, WA !

hey r/PacificNorthwest n happy pride month! :) i'm Adrian, a teen born + raised in Bellingham, WA and I wanted to give this subreddit a look @ the short film me and my friends made a while back for a local teen filmmaking project (which we one Judges Choice at!) that we're gonna be putting out this coming Monday!

plot's really simple (only because it had to be limited to three minutes tops)...

>

...but we put a lot of effort into making it really rich in a number of other ways ... which you will get to see VERY soon !!! this was a really cathartic project to make and I can't wait for us to be able to share it

we shot it all in a parking lot so it isn't the most picturesque art piece ever but it is super PNW in spirit! we took a lot of visual cues from films like The Ring and Twilight so there is, of course, still a whole lot of pacific northwest that runs through its veins. the film community over here certainly isn't the biggest there's ever been but it's still really nice to be apart of it :)

putting out a short film to close out pride month — shot + set right here in Bellingham !

hey r/Bellingham and happy pride month! :) I'm adrian, a teen born and raised here, and I wanted to give everybody on here a little taste of the short film me and some friends made for the Guerilla Film Project at the Pickford earlier in May (which we won one of the four Judges Choice awards at!) before we push it out online this coming Monday!!

plot's really simple (only because it had to be limited to three minutes tops)...
