Severe Nausea

I'm having trouble managing my nausea while recovering from my most recent flareup. This last flareup was acute pancreatitis with necrosis, two large cysts, and a severe infection. Because of this, I have been on around the clock IV broad spectrum antibiotics for the past 6 weeks and still have another two weeks to go. Fortunately, I am able to receive this treatment from home.

I am unable to take zofran due to my elevated heart rate, but I am presently taking dimenhydranate and metoclopramide and they are not helping very much. The nausea at times gets to the point where I start vomiting. Any suggestions on how to manage the nausea? I have ginger tablets, but I can't take them for very long as they start causing heartburn.

Is this song ready to be released?

I've been working on this song now for several months, and I feel it is at a point where I can start creating the music video to go along with it. The song is called "Pieces of You" and I wanted some feedback to see if any last minute alterations would be beneficial, or if I should go with what I have.

I wrote this song because health wise, I'm not doing too great. I've been in and out of the hospital several times in the past year with a failing pancreas and some other nasty things. So I wrote this in the perspective of how my spouse would feel when I'm gone.

Easy sweet treats for a damaged pancreas

I presently am having another pancreatitis flareup, but this time involving two infection filled cysts on my liver and pancreas along with necrosis of the pancreas. We are unsure of how much damage has been done due to one of the cysts covering the entire pancreas.

It did not do enough damage to make me diabetic so I can still consume sugar, but I have a pretty bad sweet tooth. I am wondering if I could get some suggestions on simple baking recipes that are rich, sweet, and delicious, but are also pancreatitis friendly. I love cakes, custards, plain mochi, sorbet, smoothies, cookies, gelatinous deserts, pies, etc. I’m not very picky and am opened to most things.

Vocals

I'm an amateur vocalist who enjoys recording and making music. I noticed during my recent acute pancreatitis flareup, my singing voice has been affected significantly and I am struggling to sing stable notes. I have idiopathic acute pancreatitis and don't smoke/drink. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, was it temporary or permanent?

Pancreatic Cyst

After an ERCP, it confirmed that I have a mass that has engulfed my entire pancreas, but based on what I was able to gather from the report, it appears that the scan was inconclusive. They are speculating that this could be a pseudocyst filled with liquid, but they were also unable to rule out a solid mass. It also has internal Septations which appears in some other conditions as well.

I know all of the hate with chatGPT, but I had it summarize the report and this was one of it's main points

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

>A very large fluid-filled mass replaced much of your pancreas

>The scan showed a large cystic (fluid-filled) mass measuring approximately 10.8 × 7.0 × 7.5 cm.

>It contained internal septations (thin walls) and debris, meaning it wasn't just a simple fluid cyst.

>Much of the normal pancreas was difficult to see because this cyst occupied so much of it.

>What this likely means:

>Given your history of pancreatitis, this could represent a large pancreatic pseudocyst or walled-off pancreatic necrosis (WON)—both are known complications of pancreatitis.

>Less commonly, certain pancreatic cystic tumors can look similar, which is why doctors usually continue investigating until they're confident of the diagnosis.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Since they still cannot definitively find a cause for my pancreatitis (idiopathic acute pancreatitis), that with each flareup, the complications have become more and more serious, I've always had a bad feeling since the beginning that this could be Cancer, but since I'm not a doctor, I cannot infer if this is true or not. I have a followup MRI on August 18th, but at the same time, I want to live in blissful ignorance.

If anyone else has gone through something similar to what was mentioned above, I'm just looking for some support to help quell my worries. I hope that none of you will ever go through with something like this, but if your results were similar to mine, can you share your story and what the outcome was?

Worst flareup ever

I’ve been in hospital for two weeks now and am being treated with broad spectrum antibiotics through a pic line.
This time they did an MRCP and an ERCP (to put a stent to open my bile duct) and found that not only did I have severe inflammation of the pancreas, but I also have a 10.9cm cyst around it. They also found some necrosis, but fortunately my blood sugar is still normal.

I originally came to the ER via ambulance and after bloodwork, a bunch of red flags were pointing that I was in partial liver failure as well. I’m in Ontario and I’ve never seen them move so quickly before.

The first week was horrible. Begging for pain killers around the clock. They were giving me 10mg iv morphine (I’m allergic to dilaudid) every 2 hrs and it was barely enough. Once they started the gabapentin and antibiotics, things started to improve quickly.

I’m still in the hospital, but at least I can walk short distances now and sit up for short periods of time now. I hope you are doing better than me and I wish the best for all of you.

Admitted again

Well… I was admitted to the hospital and this is my 4th stay in the past 12 months due to idiopathic acute pancreatitis. My lipase was around 2400 this time (unusually it’s been normal for the last two pancreatitis flareups).

Unfortunately, this time, not only did I have the severe pain associated with this condition, but severe nausea and vomiting and because of this, I had to take an ambulance to the hospital. I was in too much pain to drive myself and was too sick to sit in a cab. Also because of the vomiting I had an electrolyte balance was out of whack and they are currently trying to fix this with I believe oral sodium phosphate and IV potassium phosphate.

Pain is starting to improve at least, but the fatigue is on a whole different level. I am sleeping for 20/24hrs per day. I hope you guys are doing better today :)

Fear of loud noises and cars during walks

For the past two months, our pup Bambi become very fearful and terrified of loud noises and cars outside. Previously, he did not have this issue and it just spontaneously occurred. The only other person to walk him is my spouse and he was unable to think of a reason as to why he became so fearful. My spouse is very honest with me so I don't have a reason to doubt him. Lately, we have been taking him out in the back courtyard of our apartment complex because he becomes so anxious and nervous to be around cars.

He is about a year and a half old now and I am wondering if you had any advice on how to ease him back into walking on the sidewalk again without him being so fearful? He doesn't bark nor is he reactive outdoors (odd for a JRT), he just tucks his tail, cowers, and pulls me back to the apartment building's door. He also initially gets so excited to go for a walk just to cower back home.

Bambi is too smart for his own good!

So my little shit head Bambi is too smart for his own good. He understands the command "drop it." Unfortunately not only does he actually understands what "drop it" means, but he has figured out a way to game the system.

The way it worked previously was when he would get into something he was not supposed to have; I would then say drop it; and once he dropped the item he would get a treat. Simple right?

But guess what the little shit head does now? He will actively look for something he knows that he is not allowed to have, run over to me and tease me with it, then as soon as I say drop it, he immediately drops it and starts his little happy dance around where the stove is (he gets a cheerio as a treat).

What am I supposed to do? Not give him a treat? He found a way to best us and I can't punish him for that...

So... Any time he drops an item that I tell him to drop, he gets a treat. I mean at the end of the day, he drops what ever I tell him to, so I guess it was successful? Can you say no to him? Just look at that photo!

Anyone else have a smart shit head like him?

Is Bambi mixed? If so, what do you think his mix is?

Bambi is about a year and a half old now and when we adopted him, we were told he was a JRT. I see JRT, but if he is mixed, I am curious to see what he could be mixed with.

I have also included some images of him as a puppy since his ears were not always pointy and only perked up when he was around 6 months old. He now has sonar ears.

A good morning from Bambi!

Bambi Bambers Bamberino Pottyboy says “Good Morning” to everyone.

If you want, share a photo of your pup saying good morning along with their full name.

Severe Fatigue

I've been suffering from idiopathic acute pancreatitis for over 12 months now and have had 3 hospitalizations in that time period. Fortunately, as of my December MRI, there does not appear to be any damage to my pancreas, but the cause is still unknown.

For the past few months, I have been feeling extreme fatigue that has been progressively getting worse and now when I try standing up after laying down, I feel like there is this invisible string behind me pulling me backwards. It's not this sensation where I am going to pass out, but it's a weird feeling. I now have to sit up for about a minute before standing to avoid falling.

I have an appointment with my doctor today to inform him of this, but does anyone else feel this way? If so, how do you manage? Right now, just to stay awake, I've been using 200mg caffeine tablets twice daily and at times, I still sleep after taking them.

Strong Like Me Concept Demo

Hello Again,

So I finally finished my song Pieces of You and am presently working on the music video to go along with it, but in the meantime, the song featured in the video is called Strong Like Me. I put this on the back burner about 6 months ago and figured I would revisit it.

This is a rough concept of the song to give you a general idea of what it will eventually sound like. I'm aware that more can be done with the mixing and the quality of the vocals, but the feedback I am looking for is more so on if this song is viable and worth pursuing? How does the music flow? Are the lyrics good, or do they need improvements? Etc.

u/Responsible_Froyo_21 — 21 days ago

So based on the prior feedback, I've made several adjustments and had it recorded at a studio. Otherwise, with my song, this is the direction I plan on going and I am just at the phase where I am fine tuning it.

Are there any minor tweaks that can be made? Presently, the vocals are comprised of around 10 separate tracks, several of which unique recordings to try and give some depth to my vocals. I also used some distortions to make them a bit distinct and unique. I also used some autotune and I am hoping it's not too aggressive. The idea was to fix some of the words that were slightly out of tune without overdoing it.

As a note, for the vocal recording, I had this recorded at a local studio, so I can't record components of the vocals again. I am wondering, if any changes are needed, what are some minor tweaks that I can do with the mixing/effects.

Right now, we are working on the music video to accompany this song to give it a visual representation of the story the lyrics are portraying which will give it more emotional depth.
