Are AR glasses finally becoming practical in 2026?

AR glasses have always felt like one of those cool but unnecessary tech items to me. The demos were always fun to watch but I never really got the feeling that people would actually wear them day to day. Then yesterday, I saw someone using a pair at a train station and I realized they might actually be catching on now. May I am just late to the party lol.

Anyone here actually use AR glasses daily? I would love to hear how they fit into your daily routine.

First night in my new apartment and I don't have a TV setup yet lol

Just moved to California and my first night in the new apartment feels so strange with half of my stuffs still in boxes and total silence around me.

It's 1AM right now and I'm wide awake. Since I don't have a TV setup yet, I ended up using a pair of smart glasses I bought with me. I originally got them back when I had roommates so I wouldn't bother anyone late at night, but they ended up being a total lifesaver on night one here too. It was just nice to lay on the floor, put them on, and watch a movie without needing to assemble heavy electronics or setup furniture after an exhausting moving day.

For those who live alone, what is the one random comfort item you always unpack first when you move?

RayNeo Air 4 Pro on flights has been a game changer!

I picked up the RayNeo 4 Pro recently for work trips and it has been great so far!

I travel pretty often and privacy is important to me. The coolest part about these glasses is having a big private screen without needing to hold a phone or tablet the whole flight.
I flew from California to Vancouver last week and watched a movie the entire time. I thought it might be gimmicky at first, but the 1080p display is surprisingly crisp and clear.

Does anyone else use these mainly for traveling or flights?

Watched Longlegs on AR glasses last night and it was genuinely terrifying

I love horror movies, but usually look away whenever the tension gets too high. So last night, I decided to watch Longlegs using my AR glasses.

Since the screen takes up your entire field of vision, you literally cannot look away. The contrast made the dark, unsettling scenes feel ten times more suffocating.

Also, hearing >!creepy whispers right by my head!< from built-in temple speakers without actual headphones made it feel way too real. I honestly felt like >!I was stuck inside that creepy house with Nicolas Cage!<

Does anyone have other high-tension horror movie recos? I definitely want to try this setup again

Grabbed the Air 2 during Prime Day is my best purchase this year!

I’ve been eyeing the Air 2 for months and finally pulled the trigger during the sale! It arrived last week and I’ve been using it every single day!

The picture quality is insane! Hooked it up to my phone to watch Netflix in bed, and the virtual screen seriously feels like a huge private theater. Everything is super sharp!

I also tried taking on my Steam Deck with it. Playing RPGs while laying completely flat on my back is a total game changer! The built-in speakers are surprisingly clear too, so I don’t even need headphones.

For sale price, this is easily the most satisfying tech I’ve bought in a long time! Did anyone else grab a pair during Prime Day? What are you guys using yours for the most?
