I fixed it.

Delighted with this one. The little plastic bar on my parcel shelf broke and it kept dropping each time I opened my boot.

Drilled it out. Added dowels. Job done.

Ceiling Mounted IR Panels - Rough office - Yay or Nay?

Hi folks, I've an office space - 4.3 * 4.1 - just me - rarely if ever move from the desk unless it's to make a coffee. And even at that it's a dramatic seated wheely roll to get something and immediately back.

The space is... rough. Poor roof insulation. Block walls with maybe some cavity insulation. I can't see any point in trying to heat the space, especially since the windows and frames are rough too. It's upstairs in my business, in a leased property, so there'll be no replacement windows any time soon.

All I want is for it to be workable through winter, in the cheapest easiest DIY manner that exists.

So my initial thought is a ceiling mount IR panel above my workspace. And throw some polycarbonate sheeting with foam seal up on the walls to effectively cover the windows over the winter.

Workspace attached for reference - I know, it's sad right now.

I want the absolute simplest lowest effort solution possible. There's absolutely no chance of me putting PIR board on the ceiling or walls ahead of winter.

Would a plug in overhead IR panel be the best option?

My Garage / Office Project - Held Needed!

Hello reddit world. Long time user. First timer interact'r (so you know this is serious).

I've recently become the tenant of a lovely little space all of my own. Technically it's an office, but I'm going for more of a workshop / garage vibe, with a nice tech command centre, and espresso set up.

It's 4.3m * 4.1m, I'm unsure how to approach it, and looking for suggestions.

The space is mine for at least 10 years, so I'm in no rush to finish everything immediately, and would like to move section by section.

I've done a temporary tool set up so that I have the bits on hand I need to do the job, but there's at least 2 more boxes of tools and accessories still to come up.

My first port of call is to get some kind of peg board set up for the power tools running top to the bottom on the "shelf" wall, and another on the perpendicular wall for hand tools.

The simplest option seems to be this as it can be formatted and added to as desired https://www.amazon.ie/Amazon-Basics-Rectangular-Metal-Pegboard/dp/B08PDX8MLZ

I'll probably repaint the other walls back to white as a base, and let the aesthetic carry the decorating load.

Putting it into a single sentence, it would be "I'm just making my Casey Neistat's carefully curated crazy office" (don't like the guy, do like his office).

Befores are attached, along with some inspo.

What regrets do you have? What would you do if you were doing it all again?

There's not much budget for this so it'll be likely done piecemeal DIY.

Based in Ireland, so some of the things simply sourced in the US may not be available sadly.
