Have you had an overall good experience with N26? Seems so easy and convenient, but I'm kind of afraid of making the wrong decision.

**For those of you who don't know, N26 is a fully virtual bank account. I've seen a lot of people recommend it for new auxes.

How do you deposit cash? Can you? What if you need to transfer funds from a non-EU bank account to your N26? What kind of fees are there?

What's something you wish you had brought to Spain?

**I'm from the US btw**

I'm starting to pack my luggage for the big move!! I'm curious: did you get to Spain and realize, "Ugh, I should have brought/I really miss xyz!" This could be anything from snacks to home decor to medicine. I'm wanting to hear people's experiences so I can make the best packing choices.

*In a game show announcer's voice* NAME! THAT! KDRAMA!

I loveeeeeeee this trope so much! Which dramas come to your mind? I immediately think of "Sh**ting Stars" and "King the Land."

For those of you who were NOT already proficient in Spanish when you moved to Spain, what was language acquisition like for you? How much effort (if any at all) did you put into learning?

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to be an aux was because I had a strong desire to immerse myself in the Spanish culture. It has always been my dream to become as fluent as possible in Spanish, and I'm also a huge believer that learning the native language is not just beneficial tot he learner, but it is also a HUGE sign of respect to the locals living there. I understand, however, that, depending on your placement, there may not be many opportunities to learn. What has your experience been with this?

Feeling nervous about my consulate meeting tomorrow (Washington DC)

I've heard horror stories of people who drove hours for their meeting but were turned away for tiny oversights. I have all my documents organized and ready, and I really did my best to take care and thoroughly read through the BLS requirements. If I get turned away for some reason, I'm going to be SO upset.

Do you think it will be a problem if the physical photo I attach to the application is not the exact some photo that I submitted on the website?

Will my acceptance letter really be enough to prove financial means?

Is there anything YOU wish you had known or done before your meeting??

Almost 20 years later and people are just now discovering how amazing Coffee Prince is. It's me....I'm "people".

Oh my gosh! I cannot believe I put this one off for so long. Idk, something about it being an older drama really made me hesitate, but I had SOOOOOO much fun with this drama!! Yall!! I was giggling and kicking my feet like a teenage girl! The CHEMISTRY!! GUYS! The tension, the yearning!!!!!! GONG YOO! HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME FEEL THESE FEELINGS! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF!!!

Okay, okay, deep breaths 😮‍💨

If you're a fan of romances and you haven't seen it, move it to the top of your list!! But also, if you are planning to watch it, I'd suggest going into it with a carefree, unserious mindset. It's goofy, it's a bit outdate, but man is it fun! It really just reminded me of why I watch so many dramas, especially romances: they bring me such joy and excitement!

Alright, yall, thank you for reading my mental breakdown. I still need to recuperate from whatever the heck Gong Yoo did to me, so maybe I'll watch an action thriller next.

Is it true that the BEDA/Comillas Universidad acceptance letter covers the "proof of financial means" requirement?? Do I still need to provide bank statements?

Preparing for my consulate meeting and I want to make sure I understand all the requirements correctly. Would appreciate it if people could share their experience with this specific aspect of the visa process, especially if you've been to the DC consulate. Thank you!

Do I need a scan of my completed apostilled document?

Hey, guys! I'm trying to get my FBI background check apostilled through Monument, but there is an option to receive a scan of the document for an extra $20. I don't remember seeing anywhere that a scan of the doc was required. Is it? Should I pay the extra 20 bucks?

u/Reverse7695 — 2 months ago

Any tips on best practices for FBI Background check? Also, did anyone use Travelvisapro.com?

*I'm US based, btw*

I'm a bit clueless about this whole process cause I've never had to do it before. I want to make sure I'm going about it in the best way possible. I've heard a lot of people say that the best option is to start by getting an electronic fingerprint at the post office. Is that what you did?

Overall, I'm looking for tips and guidance!! I was also curious if anyone went through Travelvisapro.com. It's the website that BLS suggests.

Thanks in advance for yall's help!!

Thoughts and question about the The Sound of Magic

I really did not expect to like this as much as I thought I would. I do really love musicals, but, for some reason, I just didn't have high hopes for a kdrama musical. I thought it might be cheesy and low quality. Fortunately, I was proven wrong. To be honest, the music was forgettable in my opinion (except A Curse of Asphalt (아스팔트의 저주) from ep. 3 - that song is SO GOOD), but the story and characters were super compelling! I chose to watch this mainly because I'm a big In-youp fan, and he did, indeed, kill this role. He really brought his character to life, as did Sung-eun and Chang-wook. I had so much fun watching them all interact and come to know each other more.

>!I will say, though, that the relationship between Ah-yi and Il-deung fell flat at the end. They really built up this connection between the two of them, and, to me, it felt like it led to nothing. I was really hoping for more of a resolution there. Also, what the heck happend to the magician!!!!!! Like, yea, he disappeared, but to where! Come on!! Don't leave me in the dark like that 😫 Did they provide more of an answer to that and I just missed it? !<

Overall, despite some of my gripes, this was a great watch and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it!

Can "ya ves" mean "exactly/tell me about it"?

I think I saw this translation of "ya ves" on some website awhile ago, but I'm only just now remembering it. Perhaps "ya ves" can be used this way in certain countries? I only know it to mean something like "see what I mean?" If any one has any insight to offer, I'd really appreciate it!

Xikers has ONCE AGAIN dropped a banger. If you still haven't checked out their stuff, do so ASAP. Criminally underrated.

It'd be one thing if their music was good and people didn't give them that much attention, but it's not just their music. They're incredible performers, their choreography is awesome, and they have some of the best rappers in 5th gen. They seriously deserve more attention! Their new song is called "OKay" and it's so good. Check it out! XIKERS, FIGHTING 💪🏽

Does anyone have experience with immersive language courses? Specifically in Spain?

I'm moving to Spain in August and wanted to get there early to take a language intensive, but I'm not sure what school/program would be best. I've heard a bit about Instituto Hemingway; it looks promising, but I was hoping to hear about other people's experiences.

To belittle/intimidate/make one feel small

I've seen a lot of different words that COULD work. Does anyone know which would be the best option? I've included some example sentences for more context:

>The manager was ruthless, always belittling his employees.

>I was going to ask her out, but her beauty intimidated me too much!

Some words that come up when I use Spanishdict:

Menospreciar, denigrar, restar/quitar importancia

***If anyone knows if any of these words are more commonly used in Spain, that would also be very helpful!

Okay, so I’m trying to remember this video I saw a while back. Here’s what I remember about it:

- It was a video recording of a concert. Not an idol concert, but a k-band concert.

- In the video, the members of the group were in between songs and they were talking to the audience.

- There was an English translator over the speaker system.

- One of the band members said something in a sing-songy tone and they all started laughing when the English translator repeated the phrase in the same way.

- All I remember is the English translator saying something like “Sooo good! Everything about you is so good!”

HELP ME FIND THIS VIDEO!! I’ve been literally thinking about it for weeks now lol!
